On May 28, 2004, TERRANCE PATRICK “Terry” LOFTUS, 44, of Plainfield, IL, died suddenly, while serving his country, from injuries sustained in an aviation accident. He was born and raised in Hastings, MI. A former resident of Maryland, where he was employed by Westinghouse; Terry also was a flight instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He was a special agent and pilot employed with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration at the time of his death. Survived by his wife of 10 years, Debbie (Petri) Loftus; loving father of Dornier, Banan and Mallory, as well as his fourth child due in October. Also survived by his parents, Patrick J. and Iris M. (Horsley) Loftus, of Hastings; one sister, Denise (Dean O.) Garn, of Jenison, MI; one brother, Andrew Loftus, of Annapolis, MD and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his son-in-laws, the Petri’s of Maryland. A Memorial Visitation will take place, Wednesday, June 2, 2004, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington Road), Joilet, IL. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, June 3, 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 129 S. Division Street (Rt. 59), Plainfield. Inurnment to follow at the Parish Cemetery.
