Father gets 18 months for infant's shaking death
Father gets 18 months for infant's shaking death
"She wouldn't stop fussing. I was having a bad day." The baby died Jan. 15.

I wonder if the good people of A.A.Co. are proud of Hackner and his insane method, whatever that may be, of determining and handing down justice.
Kill a 1 month old baby because you’re having, “a bad day” and spend 18 months in jail enjoying prison life, but wait....
“An Annapolis man was sentenced yesterday to the maximum three years in prison for killing his girlfriend's dog during an argument over their relationship in March.”
“Circuit Court Judge Paul A. Hackner sentenced McCreary to three years in prison for the animal cruelty and 10 years for the second-degree assault. He then suspended all but three years of the sentence. Upon his release from prison, McCreary will be on supervised probation for five years.”

Let’s review Paul shall we?
Shake the baby to death and look forward to 18 months, but kill a dog and smack your girlfriend around and BAMM 3 years. Paul Hackner must really, really feel bad for people who are, “having a bad day”.
Of course both get equal probation terms, 5 years.

this tragic incident happens quite often. If there was no malice, I can see the reasoning for the sentence. If the parent had anger issues or history - I would say that that sentence is ridiculous.
Edit: Let me change this. I did not look the story over well. Did not realize this was a ONE MONTH OLD INFANT. His response should be as protector, not aggressor. This is not excusable. I think the original sentence was just, not the suspended part.

If only elected politicians had the temerity of WV Orange & Black; that is, to publicly call out liberal judges, enemies of society themselves, and not allow their thug-pampering ways to be forgotten during the next judicial election.
Judge Hackner: a typical Parris Glendening appointment.

I'm angry so I guess I'll just kill a few infants. They cry and make too much noise. Plus there's that poopy diaper thing going on. Whatever.

This is repulsive on many levels. This "father" deserves a stiff sentence and a good beat down. Killing an infant is one of the most disgusting things a human can do.

He had a plea bargain: no intent to kill, family testified he was supportive through pregnancy. His lawyer claimed a medical procedure injured the child, although a state expert refuted that. I think the state should have pushed more. Just because he didn't INTEND TO KILL doesn't make her less dead. What kind of an adult SHAKES a child so hard?

Yes, when you think of all the people who want children so badly, who would never think of harming them no matter how bad their day was..............

The kid was only a few months removed from a legal abortion. So, perhaps the father was just exercising his right to choose.

Once again we see the real terrorists in America are the Judges.
I wonder how much the Attorney had to pay off the Judge to get such a light sentence.
Michael Vick is wondering why he spent 23 months in prison when he could've only spent 18.

That is not true. There are experts in the medical field that can determine if a baby has been shaken.

18 years should be the outer limit for a retroactive abortion. Sorry, Kid, you're just not working out.
