I am not sold on #8 from dunbar as the DPOY, he dose not impact games like the past winners of this award? Check out or ask anyone who has seen Addison play if he is not truly a monster on both sides of the ball?
Are you saying that these players should win over Jennings or Cosh? I hope you aren't serious if you are saying this!

Cosh has to be the favorite. Everything is lining up for him to win. Strong body of work, big time numbers, breaking even more records this year, will play between 11-14 games and finally leading his team to wins.

I have seen Dunbar play 4 times this year and Ayers is not the best defensive player on there team. He had 1 game were he had over 5 tackles and that was against City. #5(Parks) & #8(Aleaze) are the 2 best. Now Ayers, is by far the best Offensive player on the team and one of the best in the metro, and if any award it would be OPOY, not for defense. He is a workload on offense and really doesnt even play defense as much because he touches the ball alot. Now im not sayin he isnt good because we all know he is, but he isnt as valuable to Dunbars defense as Parks and Aleaze are. As for Addison, i would put him in the same category as Mcmanus becuase they both make such good plays on the field, but he stands out more for his offensive plays than his defense. Tyler Weedon, i remember seeing his name for defensive players to look out for but i havent heard much about him recently, how is his season going so far?

2)Rudy Johnson
3)Deontay Mcmanus

D-POY

3)#19 from city. Not sure of his name but he has to be leading the state in sacks right now! He is a true baller.
City College #19 DE is Phillip Foster

I wasnt at first either during the PAtterson game. But throughout the season I have seen him play 4 different positions to help with scheme. This shows he has alot of versitality, and honestly, who else in the metro as a defensive player can really contribute to his team as he did from doin this. Addison is good but he is just a beast all around, and more significantly on offense, same as Ayers. This kid just brings so much to the table that i havent seen in a while. Against city in the 1st half he single handly disrupted almost every play in the backfield in the 1st half, and would have did the same if he didnt get ejected. He is just a flat out physical freak on the field. As for Reynard Parks, I feel people are still sleeping on this kid. He is the real deal and i really cant think of anything else for him to do to show it because his game is really speaking for itself right. The kid is a true baller, im glad UNLV has taken notice.

Yes he does alot on defense but im still amazed on how almost every time he touches the ball he does somethin amazing with it. But what about defense POY. No real defensive player really stands out above the rest of the pack like last year(Horace Miller). But I honestly think it goes between Raynard Parks or Josh Aleaze. From watching PArks play, he is by far the Linebacker in the Metro! He has been overlooked for so long but his pressence is felt on the field, yes he is a little small for LB standing at 5'10 but he sure does pack a puch! And Aleaze as well, he doesnt really have a firm position right now because he is being moved all over the place, but he brings alot of scheme to Dunbars defense. Probaly the most versatile athlete in the Metro, Being able to play ILB,OLB,DE,DT, and NG and dominate the competion at each position speaks volumes. I wouldnt be suprised if i see him at saftey next
I have been watching that young man Parks and I must agree he is a beast. He certainly get my vote.

Im saying that there are other kids that should be looked at rather then give it away before everything has settled? The light shines bright on both Jennings and Cosh because they are the preseason best at their position and they both have lived up to the hype? The kids that i speak of are mking it happen for their teams with out as much light but still getting the job done? I would like to see a kid who could cover the Addison kid one on one or beat him on defense one on one?

City's unsung hero. Hands down. Not too bad on offense either.

This kid Jsh Aleaze has to get some kind of special award this kid plays almost every position on the field. He has won me over with his will to win. He is the kind of player a coach loves to have on his team, he will do what ever is needed and he productive at it. He has played MLB/OLB/DE/DT/NG/OG/OT/TE/FB DAMN his new name is SUPERMAN.

I agree, but some feel he doesnt deserve POY because he is not the talent his brother was. FYI, none of that past DPOY were anywere near the talent his brother was. The crazy part is, he has a higher ceiling than probaly every defensive athlete in the metro, he is nowere near the athlete that he is going to be when it's all said and done, potential is limitless and the only thing that can stop him is himself. But I've been hearing great things about him lately, Im hoping he isnt going down the same path as his brother.

I can't see Coxson getting All-State recognition at WR -- I know that's where he's recruited for and will play in college -- obviously he's deserving, but his selection should be at ATHlete.

I'd say the same for Jennings at Gilman. Obviously a great talent, but as a QB pick, his chances are diminished. Based on his numbers and performance he'd be a 1st team pick at ATHlete.

Coxson is a one of the best talents in the state but will not be All State this year because of his injury. Missing a couple of games and playing hurt in a couple more really killed his chances.

Jennings is a no brainer as All State and could still be State O POY after a couple of subpar games by Coker recently. A huge game this weekend against Mcdonogh could really help his cause. Its a 3 Player race between Jennings, Coker and Cosh. But I agree with you, he will be 1st Team as an athlete.

Jennings by a lot. Jennings also has over 30 total TD's. Second only to Cosh. Where would he be 1st team All state? He wouldn't be over Cosh at QB and he wouldn't be over Jennings as an Athlete.
