Hey Gentile, care to comment about this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynolds-Sorgi_incident

In the Big Ten, when the defending national champs were playing, an Ohio State player attacked a Wisconsin player in a tackle pile-up. No penalty was called.

Yet after the facts came out, the Ohio State player was suspended for a FULL GAME. Not a half of a game against a crappy team!

Maybe that's why the Big Ten never wins anything these days (well except for the beatdown Michigan put on Florida and Tebow a couple years ago) - the players go where you can get away with that behavior. (And for what it's worth both players got off too easy; suspension for the rest of the season would have been appropriate.)

BDA: I remember the play. And the Michigan beat-down also. My best friend here in town in from Detroit, and he rarely lets me forget. I think the Spikes thing has been blown all out of proportion by the media and by the Florida haters. Know who Washaun Ealey is? He seems to agree. The blog link below is from the Athen, GA newspaper. That by the way is home of the University of Georgia Fightin' Bulldogs, for those of you up north who may not know.

Right. So the lying is the punishable thing, and not the initial action?
I guess you can do anything you want to in your world, as long as you admit it.

Spikes requested that his suspension be extended to a full game. Meyer obliged.

To quote Michael Kelso, "Hey, I should invent a religion."
