Welcome to art film. They're pretty hit or miss and are definitely an acquired taste. That ending scene is pretty awesome though.

the american DVD of that movie is a travesty. The subtitles are all wrong, and nearly destroy the movie. If it wasnt so good already, it wouldnt be able to hold up with the subs it got. I have a UK region DVD of it, with original subtitles, and compared it to the American version, and was shocked at the terrible translation job that was done. It's almost like watching two different movies.

I watched the original pirate loaded online at a reliable pirate site. It was all dreary and sad and frigid looking and Eli looked like a person of indeterminate gender [what was that remark in bed that she wasn't a girl?]. Still it had a very Euro flavor that would be lost in an American remake.

I totally agree with you. The ending scene was awesome!

Have you seen Dead Snow? It is a pretty good zombie flick. I've talked about it on other threads...maybe even this one..lol
