Since I have been to this board, I have had the impression that you guys are somewhat skeptical of Mike Preston. I on the other hand like his writings most of the time. I like his style, sense of humor, and analysis. He may not be spot on 100% of the time, but we are all entitled to our opinions.

The Ravens Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey was cooked last Sunday. Time to move on in our thinking to 2010. If we've got anyone on the practice squad worth a look bring him up and give him some reps (like Eron Riley) - to see if he's got it.

You might as well get use to it. The Ravens of old are just that OLD - dead and burried. Its time to forge a new identity. I think it borders on managerial incompetence to not have one or two young, talented, wide receivers on the team ready for a chance.

I would trade anybody and everybody I could (except Flacco, Rice, Oher and Gaither) for draft picks and when the draft came around I would start selecting wide receivers and cornerbacks ONLY. And when the draft was over I'd sign every other undrafted rookie wide receiver and cornerback 6' 2" and over that I could find. It would be a start.

Mike Preston for Ravens coach. Maybe he can bring in Schmuck for offensive coordinator. Those crazy shirts would be all the talk. I can see it now, donuts for all meals at camp.

If they're bringing any receiver up for a look see, it should be Justin Harper

And you forgot about our three and out to open the 2nd half...that was the icing on the cake.

I love the "I never thought Mike was right until now" responses.

I want to see proof that Preston played football in college and graduated. Heck, I want to see proof that he even attended a class. He should be writing for tabloid magazines.
I agree, he seems to see what he wants to see, not what is actually going on. I'm not sure why he threw Ray in there. He had a really good game. Ellerbe and Gooden were having problems covering Santi, not Lewis. Mason caught a 9 pattern down the left side thrown from inside the Ravens 10 to past midfield so I don't buy that the Ravens were only throwing slants and comebacks, etc. critique.

Preston is correct that the Ravens should be able to score from 1st and goal from the one, and that Harbaugh screwed up the TO's but it doesn't take a conversation with Vince Lombardi's ghost to figure that out. But Harbaugh won two challenges with that red flag, which is the only reason why he had the ability to throw the flag in the first place.

Thats about as spot on as you can get. Preston can be extremely annoying at times. But this article nails every situation. Think the locker room will read it ? Or maybe someone read it to them ? I don't understand why go left center rush. Not once but 3 times on first and goal at the 1 ?
P.S. Lorenzo Neil is sorlely missed. If he was leading for McLean, oh wait, that was last year. He would have scored ?

Yeah, no arguments here.

This guy is an idiot if he is criticizing Flacco and Lewis.
Flacco has NO playmaking receivers. None.
Lewis got hurt, and toughed it out.
Where is the blame on Cam Cameron? It's his fault the didn;t score on the 1. Two more QB sneaks would have gotten it in. Two telegraphed running plays doesn't cut it.
Mattison has stunk it up the better part of the season. Now, he seems to be going back to the old defense, and seems to be working better.
As for the undiscipline, as another has noted, that goes back pre this regime. Seems it is the types of players Ozzie gets.
The Ravens lost to a better team. Period. This ripping them is uncalled for after this loss.
