Time to admit that the Fridge got us. He went to the big bowl game with the Previous coach's guys and and been mediocre at best, while not securing top in state talent, and not to mention being an a-hole numerous others. I'm tired of him talking about getting tougher, "hoping" his team is disciplined enough not to fumble and throw away the games. He has one of the highest state employee salaries, not to mention he is not the best example of physical fitness in an obese world. No comparison between him and GW, he doesn't deserve another year.

Cant get rid of fridge after 1 bad season, with a real young team, he has been recruiting well past few years and that will show in the future and recruiting is going well this season too. Terps have had some bad injuries as well, he will turn it around, just a bad year, seems like most teams have em, unless you are like USC, Florida, Texas and some other big programs. Maryland will never be in the class, but can have solid seasons to great ones from time to time, and bad ones too. MD football was awful before he got here, give him a chance.

why not?

can we get rid of .500 fridge after 4 out of 6 bad (< .500) seasons? not that the other 2 sprinkled in were anything special...i'm not counting the first three with vanderlinden's upperclassmen...obviously.

can we get rid of .500 fridge after being sub .500 in the acc over 9 years?

yeah, the results show.

but according to my calculations, if he's been "recruting well" for a "few years", the future is now...considering eligibility and all that jazz.

i hope not as well as the "past few years"...

of course, other teams don't have injuries...and it's not like "good recruting years" produce..u know...depth?

what's going on with the umcp collective is that every .500 fridge season blends together...it's always the same...barely beat the d-1-aa's, drop one of 'em...then beat a totally bored "name team" that turns out to be not that good in the end...

it's why you forgot about all the "bad" seasons...it's numbing.

most teams also relieve the coach after 4 out of 6 <.500 seasons...including USC, Florida, Texas and all other littler programs...except umcp. reason is - yow's bad contract she handed fraudulent fridge on vanderlinden's back...it's career suicide for her to buy him out.

let's shoot for being in wake forest's class first...then maybe umcp can get back to being in "the class" where it once was.

i nominate boulderterp as umcp ad and myself as head football coach. call me when it's time for the first game. gotta hit the first tee.

the blending of the last 6 bland, stale seasons (post vanderlinen's recruits aging out) in the umcp collective's heads is far more advanced than i thought.

did i mention that .500 fridge is 60-something years old? how many "chances" are you gonna give him (with his own recruits that is) into his retirement to the ga mansion that he never sold? at least 6?

Give the man a chance. The team lost 31 sr's , now has 10 true freshman playing and a host of injuries. There is a lot of talent that will allow this team to shine and improve .

Give him a chance? He has been there for 8 seasons.

2006 and 2008 was where he really screwed up coaching, taking teams that had legit talent to the brick of the ACC Atlantic only to lose in the final game or 2nd to final game at home.

Default Only when there's lots of empty seats at Byrd or Comcast

will anything get done. Football and men's basketball produce the revenue which finances athletic department operations - reduce revenue and things will happen.

This is true, but with that said:

(1) Except for the bigtime programs, most D1A football programs have experienced significant drop-offs in attendance. Most programs have been impacted by the economy. In these tough economic times, it will be hard to differentiate the origin - Is it due to the economy, or is it due to performance on the field? Probably a bit of both.

(2) The Fridge has what, two more years left on his contract? Something like that? If he had 5-6 years remaining, you probably would see some movement. But given that the Fridge is a short-timer (anyway), I doubt you will see Yow take any action.

Default After a titanic defensive struggle

(where the Terps yielded 30 1st downs, 485 yards, and 38 points) all bowl opportunities have been extinguished. So, what's next year going to look like given returning talent plus redshirts?

Usually Room 222 is just throwing out bitter venom because he is a professional hater.....but in this instance I have to agree with him. We need a new man at the top.
