Default Mason is 6th in the league in drops?

Didn't expect that.

Meanwhile TO has twice as many.

Although 5 drops is not good, it's not as bad as at first glance. Out of the players listed in the first table, Mason has had more ball thrown to him then anyone, but Ward. You would expect that the more balls you get thrown at you the more likely you are to get drops. If you look at the rate of drops (drops/balls thrown), Mason actually has the lowest rate of anyone in the top table. Of course, in the bottom table we see Smith has 77 balls thrown to him with 0 drops.

3 of those drops were on tight sideline routes where he got popped as the ball arrived. No way he has flat out dropped 5 balls this season. He catches everything thrown in his direction.

wonder if there are comparisons for....
the older you get, the more drops you have ?

Up to this year Mason has never been considered a ball dropper.

Atleast, he doesn't cry about wanting to be traded and wanting a raise, only to get a case of the alligator arms when going over the middle toward Ray Lewis.

Yes he did cry about wanting a raise. Right before his attention grab brief retirement.

Did he catch alligator arms going across the middle like a certain reciever in Denver, or did he play half of a season with basically one arm?

Derrick doesn't go across the middle. They tried to move him to the slot a few years ago and being the consummate team player he is whined and cried till they moved him back outside.

Who would you rather see on the outside man? You do realize that the slot receiver is the 3rd fiddle right. Why change what this man has been doing for 12+ years or whatever when he is a top 25 receiver of all time. He has earned the right to complain about how he is being used because he knows what he does well. But hey, rock on man.

He complained, because he wanted the ball, not because he was afraid of going over the middle. He is in the slot now and was when he caught that 20 yard touchdown pass from Flacco versus Denver.
