Thumbs up Patriots 19-0 gear..

Well at least it's going to a good cause..

Even though the New England Patriots lost, they will be winners to children in Nicaragua, Romania, and several other countries. What happens to the book that was already written, needing only the ending-19-0, Super Bowl champs.?

They do still finish writing it?

So the kids gettting the 19-0 shirts and Perfect season shirts & hats.. Will they go around for years thinking the Pats did accomplish the impossible because 1) they don't have tv's, 2) don't have american tv, 3) can't read or write english?

Another lie perpitrated by the great old media machine.

It would like kids around here wearing Paraguay World Cup 2006 Champions. Who would know?

I guess George would prefer that the apparel get tossed.

Yeah some could tell Brad Pitt and that nit wit he lives with. They think you have to go over seas to find a poor/parentless child.

They prolly contacted Sears to see what to do, since they proudly held the early release of the full line of Baltimore Browns merchandise!!!

The hats & tee shirts of the Superbowl losing teams always go to foreign countries.

Personally, I'd rather go shirtless than wear one of these T-shirts.

Seriously, though, this is a byproduct of our "I want it CHEAP, and I want it NOW!" culture. For every team that wins, there is another team that loses. The apparel should only be made AFTER the game has ended, so that there is no waste.

But I guess it would take too long to have the apparel shipped in from Asia, so we can't have that.

I don't doubt what you're sharing is true, but when I heard this story, I got the impression that this was the first year they were doing it.

Hell, I'd prolly still wear a Randy Moss, Wexler, or Tom Brady jersey.

The team lost, but that doesn't mean they aren't great players.

Is Eli Manning in the Pro Bowl?

I recall the Onion doing a piece on this issue a while back--couldn't find it.

I imagine the NFL doesn't want "incorrect" stuff being worn in this country.

New York Times[/i] story.

Quote:
The other set of championship gear — the 288 T-shirts and caps made for the team that did not win — will be hidden behind a locked door at Dolphin Stadium. By order of the National Football League, those items are never to appear on television or on eBay. They are never even to be seen on American soil.

...

“Where these items go, the people don’t have electricity or running water,” said Jeff Fields, a corporate relations officer for World Vision. “They wouldn’t know who won the Super Bowl. They wouldn’t even know about football.”
Note that this story is a year old.
