Default Troy Smith to Jets

Lots of rumors going around that Rex Ryan is trying to lure Troy Smith to the Jets as a starter. Anyone else hear this? If true, it would be a real shame not seeing those trick plays with Smith throwing to Flacco.

That's a total BS rumor. I'm in the NY area and no one is talking about Troy Smith.

Bird Brain take your Jets and move along. Troy would have to be traded to the Jets he can not be signed. Another thing you stated you were going to be a Jets fan so while your watching them you wont be able to see our fun trick plays

Of course it is. NY would eat up Smith the minute they brought him him to be QB. He is not a starting QB in the NFL.

Call me dumb but i believe smith could be a quality starter in this league, this guy had one bad game granted it was on a national stage but you can't judge a guy from what he did in college, the Smith i knew beat the steelers in his official start as a Raven.

I also think Troy has the talent to start and I was rooting for him last offseason.

But Flacco established himself as the starter midseason and I never looked back.

I was too when it was him and boller going at it in camp the guy had a swagger about him that i think you must possess when you are QB in the league, but MY DUDE J5 is the man no doubt about that.

I wouldn't let him go, you need 2 quality QBs in this league.

I think he can definitely be a starting QB in the league, but I don't think he has the upside as Flacco

Should the Jets want to give up a 3rd round pick for Troy Smith I'd help him pack his bags.

Smith will never be happy as #2, behind Flacco. I say get something of value for him and bring Boller back as the backup. I'd be fine with that.

And one of the Jets players was quoted somewhere right after FA started that he was hearing the Jets wanted to land both Lewis and Scott. Everybody on the Ravens roster is "rumored" to be going to the Jets now...

I also heard that Rex is in negotiations to bring Edgar and Allen to NY. They're receptive to it as they're both bitter about being cast aside while Poe now gets all of the glory to himself.
