Default Best cheap eats in Baltimore area

The best cheap eats in the Baltimore area were listed at
http://baltimore.citysearch.com/bestof/winners/cheap_eats .

Do you agree or disagree with their picks?

Audience Winner
1. Henninger's Tavern
1812 Bank St, Baltimore, MD
Romantic, unique and off the beaten path, this tavern will please even the most finicky culinary critic.

2. Samos Restaurant
600 Oldham St, Baltimore, MD
One of Greektown's best-kept secrets, this bustling restaurant serves fast, homemade Greek food for eat-in or take-out.

3. Double TT Diner
6300 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD
A big pseudo-chrome facade signals suburbanites to pull over for comfort food.

4. Quiznos Sub
13919 Baltimore Ave Ste 5, Laurel, MD
Sandwich franchise whets the appetite with more than 20 hot hoagies.

5. Sip & Bite

The 24-hour breakfasts make this historic Canton diner a well-worn favorite.

6. Nacho Mama's
2907 Odonnell St, Baltimore, MD
Elvis lives on in the spirit of this quirky Canton hangout.

7. Holy Frijoles
908 W 36th St, Baltimore, MD
Larger-than-life portions of Mexican food are served in this chain's tiny, funky dining rooms.

8. Sabatino's Italian Restaurant
901 Fawn St, Baltimore, MD
This late-night restaurant still feels like the little Italian place on the corner.

9. Szechuan Restaurant
1125 S Charles St, Baltimore, MD
Reliable favorites mix with creative house specials at this Chinese restaurant.

10. Papermoon Diner
227 W 29TH St, Baltimore, MD
In a city known for its unpretentious eateries, this wackily decorated diner shines round the clock.

the only one of those I've been too was Paper Moon and I agree with that one. Good food good prices. For the men here's my recommendation for a inexpensive first date dinner

Schooners
7703 Belair Rd
Baltimore, MD 21236

Good food, intimate setting, great prices

I've been to most of these places (haven't been to Henninger's and Quiznos). I think they're great picks. Most of the places have a unique character that makes them stand out, too.

As far as price goes, here's a good example... Four of us went to Samos a few weeks ago and got completely stuffed with good Greek food for about $20 each (drinks and appetizers included).

Mexican and Diner food is generally cheap. The places on this list are probably the cream of the crop for the Baltimore area.

I don't see why quiznos is on there, its just a run of the mill corporate style sub shop. No different than subway. There are plenty of awesome original sub shops all over the place. I would never waste my money in a quiznos (again).

One of my favorites:
http://www.californiatortilla.com/

I've been to Quiznos 3 times and will never go again.
They are extremely overrated.

Default Thai ...

For Thai, try Thai Heaven on Frederick Road in the Paradise section of Catonsville. No way you finish everything; doggie-bag practically guaranteed. And the prices are soooo nice.

Default Decadent

If you think the deep-fried cheesecake is rich, tackle the deep-fried, sugar-dusted Oreo cookie at Chubby's Grill in Perry Hall or Towson. But I don't recommend trying after consuming the two-pound hamburger (which was absolutely delicious, by the way).

Samos has the best gyros and greek dressing I've ever had.

Yesterday I went to the new Five Guys in Canton and it was less than $5 for a big cheeseburger. I don't eat a lot of burgers, but it was pretty good.

Ugh. Apparently, there was no consideration for quality of the food. I've had better meals at White Castle.

Thumbs up Great Burgers!

The half-priced burgers at Koopers in Fells Point are a great deal. Of course, your cholesterol goes up some, but once in a while it's well worth it! Tuesday is half-price night.

quiznos is a joke. pay for play anyone? or what whiskey tango voted that corporate crap in?

that's like going to massachusetts and coming back bragging how good their lobster is. at that particular red lobster in quincy.

LOL

There's something very right about eating there while extremely intoxicated. Sober? Well that's a whole nother story.

I prefer Fuddruckers to 5 guys just in terms of their burgers.

Nino Taco now has 2 locations, best cheap Mexican food in the state. Holy Frijoles is good, but inferior to Nino.

Samos rocks my world.

Paper Moon does as well.

I have a framed original Sabatinos menu in my room. Best. Garlic Bread. Ever.
