  2. Maryland men's lacrosse sophomore Matt Rambo has been indefinitely suspended and student assistant coach Brian Cooper has been dismissed after assault charges were filed against each of them, according to reports by WJLA ABC 7 and the Baltimore Sun. Rambo's suspension and Cooper's dismissal stem from an incident that allegedly occurred in the early morning hours on October 22nd in the 4500 block of College Avenue. Documents filed in the District Court of Prince George's County show that a warrant for Rambo's arrest was issued on October 29th. In the warrant, Rambo faces separate charges for first degree assault, second degree assault, and malicious destruction of property under $1,000. Rambo, who started all 17 games in his freshman season, scored 30 goals and had six assists for Maryland in last season's run to the Final Four. Cooper, a defenseman who had no eligibility remaining, was planning to stay on as a student assistant coach while he completed his degree according to the report. He was selected in the 2014 MLL draft by the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The warrant charges him with one count of first degree assault and one count of second degree assault.
