I am trying to figure out where to go for Valentine's Day. I wanted go somewhere I have never been. It has come down to Matthews 1600 on Frederick Rd. and Darker Thank Blue Cafe on Greenmount Ave. Any input from those who have been to one or both of them would be appreciated.

I've been to Darker than blue. Cool atmosphere. Great food... The guest I was with was a regular and knew the owner, so I'm not sure if everyone's always that friendly. I'd definitely recommend it. Great place for a date.

Never heard of the other place. sorry...

never been to darker than blue ......

if I was looking for a valentine restaurant in Matthew's area I would perfer Catonsville Gourmet or Regions ......

we have gone there for birthdays .........

I love the BYOB policy which always give me the excuse to spend an extra $20 on the bottle of wine at Beltway.......

its nice drinking a $40 bottle of wine for $40 instead of paying $40 for an $18 bottle .....

I love BYOB places ......

trying a new byob thai / sushi place that just opened in whoville tonight

hitting a chocolate / desert / wine tasting at a local vineyard tomorrow for an early valentines treat instead of going out for dinner this week .....

never been there, I grew up on the eastside but have been exploring the westside for the past 10 years ......

went to this place tonight, good thai food and a nice sushi bar ..... ......

http://www.jinsasian...o.com/page1.php

it was good, a welcome addition to the neighborhood and the area needed a thai restaurant after the recent closing of thai classic .....

took a decent Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but alas, while they didn't even charge a corkage fee they were out of wine glasses .......

That seems strange. Menu looks good.

I found a nice place in Hamilton today. Right on Harford one block south of Hamilton Ave.

Interesting menu, good sides, nice open layout with a kids play area in the corner of both dining rooms.
