I didn't even realize that yesterday was Opening Day for MLB.
Does any major sport open their season with less fanfare ?

oh btw, Seattle beat Oakland 3-1 in 11 innings...
...in Japan

Have you looked through a telescope this year ?

Saturday October 24, 2009 is Astronomy Day.
Consider visiting a local astronomy club/astronomical society, planetarium, or observatory to take a look at the sky through a telescope.

They play again tomorrow and then back to Spring Training for everyone. Seems a poor way to do things.

Opening day used to be an event. Now it's an apology.

They've done this in Japan before but I don't seem to recall everyone going back to spring training games afterwards. Does anyone remember? I think it was in 2000 the Mets and someone else opened the season in Japan.

Very weird to play 5 ST games after playing 2 official games. Did the SP's even go 5 innings?
