yep, it was here at around midnight last night. I didn't see anything wrong with the subject matter or anyone's comments.

Rob, please clear up the mystery. If the Board is actually trying to set some minimum standards, why are Hampden623 and Dirty Frank (Guru) still allowed to post?

I think there were offensive names called Harper that are not allowed here.
The thread was pretty much about that and not baseball skills.

I never belittle fellow posters for simply disagreeing with me. I always belittle posters who wrap up their opinions with personal insults. I feel such folks lack the capacity to disagree without being disagreeable and they belittle themselves with their poor manners.

may have been removed for one of two reasons-- the four letter word used to describe harper or the false posting when someone denied they were never one...I'm guessing the former, but the latter is possible..

I don't think that the certain someone denied that they ever were one, but rather that they weren't one at 19 year old.

It's entirely possible.

Sometimes the **** gene lies dormant for a while.

In other instances, dickishness develops over time.

I cannot testify as to the **** level of our resident troll in chief prior to ~15 years ago.

Before then, he might have been a paragon of virtue. A veritible mountain of what is good in the world.

But ever since he registered here and started posting ?

****, ****, ****, ad infunitum...

****.

you know...now that you mention it, I remember reading **** studies about the **** gene. It's not as if there's a **** journal, but the **** gene is has been explored. indeed, studies suggests a person can be a perfectly wonderful humanitarian, but after exposure to a **** or ****-like qualities, they begin to emulate them. In some cases, a person will seek out opportunities to exert their new **** habits.

keep in mind that my use of the work **** includes the act of being a **** or exhibiting ****-like qualities. Like the studies I read, it saves time if you just type "****", rather than "he was acting like a ****" or "dickishness exudes from him".

being a **** can take on many forms. some folks will go to a public place to display their **** (again, this means ****-like qualities).

I remember when Will Clark was with the O's. He struck out in an RBI situation, and went back to the dugout to show his ****. he did this by throwing the water cooler. Albert Belle often showed his **** in public. I'm sure many of you remember when he showed Hannah Storm his ****.

Jim Bowden was comparing Harper to Barry Bonds and Griffey Jr. this morning.

It's too early for that.

Also he's a **** and I hope he fails. No apologies for that.

On the other hand, I'm really hoping Mike Trout does well.
I'm excited to watch him play at some point.

You can tell how big of an ego Harper has just by looking at his hair. He doesn't even need to say anything.

Lol...last night I watched his first at bat in which he grounded out to the pitcher. After getting thrown out at first he took his helmet off and I said to myself, what the **** is that haircut? I was going to post something last night but decided not to.

It kind of reminded me of this guy from an 80's movie.
