Democratic lawmaker tweets racist slur against Justice Thomas

146 posts in this topic

On his Twitter account Tuesday, state Rep. Ryan Winkler called the justices’ 5-4 ruling striking down a part of the law racist, and the work of “four accomplices to race discrimination and one Uncle Thomas.” Justice Thomas, who is black, was one of the five justices in the majority.

That tweet was quickly deleted, and Mr. Winkler, who is white and represents some upper middle class suburbs west-southwest of Minneapolis, offered a conditional-tense quasi-apology in subsequent tweets.

If only Winkler's son had made the vile, racist tweet ... then the leftwingers would have been all over this. :rwb:

no surprise .......

the tolerant folks on the left are usually the first to play the race card when something doesn't go their way .......

just going by their motto, if you don't facts on your side, use emotion ......

It's OK. It seems only white conservatives are capable of racism. Leftists get a free pass to say whatever they want whenever something doesn't go their way. The media and legal system have made that distinction clear.

It's the common leftist accusation against any black person who isn't "with the program."

Whether an "Uncle Tom" as they sling it at Justice Thomas or Herman Cain, or a "Cornball brutha" like Robert Griffin III.

If you're not "on the plantation," you can and will be attacked by their vicious racist rants.

Disgusting nutters.

No.

Rep. Ryan Winkler (D) is a racist, as is your homeboy, Barry Hussein Obama.

Own it.

Calamari, You said i need to speak up more when someone on the right spews racism. Why aren't you speaking out against racism from the left?

Like most people who read "uncle tom's cabin" in their youth, I don't consider it racism. If he had used an actual slur it would be a different story. That said, I have called out those on my side for their rare actual racist statements in the past. Unlike you.

My god, where did you find that Sharpton quote? Is that on his MSNBC bio?

Harriet Beecher Stowe was a racist?

so what you are saying is that you all think justice thomas is a black man of strength, principle and dignity like the original book character rather than the negative stereo type that became associated with the name years later ........

got it ......

Your list confirms the point that the right chooses mediocre Blacks and drags them to the front of the line in a desperate attempt to justify their racist agenda. Can you actually argue that Thomas represents the best that the legal profession has to offer? Or that Herman Cain wasn't a joke?

What are 'mediocre Blacks?'

It's just the leftwingers showing their bigotry and racism again.

They don't even try and hide it anymore.

If he had used an actual slur it would be a different story.

So in the opinion of Clamari, a white man calling a baclk man "Uncle Tom" is not an "actual slur."

The term "Uncle Tom" is used as a derogatory epithet for an excessively subservient person, particularly when that person perceives their own lower-class status based on race. It is similarly used to negatively describe a person who betrays their own group by participating in its oppression, whether or not they do so willingly

Wow. But not surprising.

I guess that shares the "Phinneas Finn mentality" of describing Justice Thomas as a "mediocre black."

Perhaps if the Democrat representative was in blackface and singing "Mammy" would also not meet the Clamari/PF test of "actual slurs"?

But that's not racist at all.
