I guess he discovered that trying to kick it accurately without time to plan and with very large, fast men coming at you wasn't so easy. Really, really cool tricks, though.

Well...the Lions have Akers, so I'm not sure the guy totally tanked. He will probably catch on with another team. He seems to be the least over wound kicker of all time. (Most of them are major head cases. He, OTOH, seems pretty loose.)

I do need to keep up. I thought Akers retired.

I'd also like to see this guy get a chance. Some team will have a kicker who gets the yips, or gets hurt. Maybe they'll take a chance on him instead of bringing back a (dare I say it?) Billy Cundiff or another former kicker.

Cundiff just got cut by the Jets, btw.

;)

(It might take a free wheelin coach like Carroll to give him a shot. I'm not sure a hard nosed guy like Coughlin would mesh too well, but ya never know.)

(And don't get me wrong. I like Coughlin; he's one of my favorite coaches. But I do cringe every time I see Chris Snee screw up, because Snee is Coughlin's son-in-law.)

I heard they are bringing Cundiff back to try out for QB.

I was thinking that the other night when I saw him on the TV at Texas Roadhouse (get the pork chop...it's to die for). The Ravens dodged a bullet on that one. Jason Garrett, too.

I wanted a fresh start with a new HC; one who wasn't a "player's coach". And I think the Ravens definitely got that in John Harbaugh. I think Rex is a better DC than HC.

Jason Garret, the next genius. Yep, thanks for turning us down Jason.

I'll have to try the pork chop. Haven't had chops in quite some time. Now you got me hungry.

Absolutely, Rex is DC.

I don't know if this is true or not but I heard he went 3 for 3 in preseason including one over 50 yards. If accurate, thats not a bad try-out.
