that was a great defensive team last year. I would be very surprised if Manny doesn't win at 3B. he was constantly getting national airtime for his defense. of course, Mike Bordick was screwed over when they gave the GG to a vastly inferior Jeter, so you never know.

Jeter is no liability at SS, but come on. Bordick had 1 error that year. ever since then, I sort of dismissed the GG award as just another popularity contest. if he wasn't a total statue at 3B, they would give it to Cabrera just because he's everyone's idol these days.

Davis was a far better glove at first than expected... Bet he gets one partially due to getting screwed (probably)  for MVP

Terrell Suggs is doing all that he can fan the flames on the Ravens’ feud with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Underneath his uniform, the linebacker/defensive end has been wearing a black t-shirt with the letters “YBYSA” on the front and the saying, “You Bet Your Sweet *** I Hate the Steelers” on the back.

"I saw it in a store, and I was like, 'Oh, that’s nice for camp. Get our minds right,'" Suggs said

I don't know, Nick doesn't have much competition at LF. Reddick missed a good bit of time. and when he was healthy, he was benched a good bit because he lost his ability to bat. I would think that would be a contributing factor. and Victorino has no arm. plus, he takes horrible routes to the ball.

I thought Jones was a terrible Center Fielder. Wasn't he? Isn't that the prevailing wisdom here? Machado, Wieters, and Hardy all have very good chances.
The kids are alright.

I'm ok with this. No problem admitting he's my favorite player on the team, and criminally underrated by most here.
The kids are alright.

I found Markakis to be awful this year.

I can see Machado and Hardy winning, but I didn't think the other three were particularly outstanding.

Markakis didn't have any errors this year but he also didn't have any range out there in RF and I really can't remember any outstanding plays he made. None. He might have made some, but I sure don't remember any on the season. I can't even remember any big throws he had either. He's an 'old' 29 out there nowadays imo.

Maybe his batting helped him in the voting...ummm...wait....nevermind.

Exactly.

Somebody (Moon?) used to defend Pie because he had no errors.

Fielding Bible gave the nod to Machado. They don't do AL and NL, just 1 award per position.

C - Molina (STL)
1B - Goldschmidt (ARI)
2B - Pedroia (BOS)
3B - Machado (BAL)
SS - Simmons (ATL)
RF - Parra (ARI)
CF - Gomez (MIL)
LF - Gordon (KC)
P - Dickey (TOR)

I don't have an 'ignore' list. I don't need no stinkin' list to remind me who I've ignored! I ignore the old-fashioned way.
