The Annual Loyola University Basketball Thread, 2013-2014

8 posts in this topic

It's that time of year yet again, and news abounds on Loyola's Basketball program.  As of this writing, the 'Hounds have a new coach, and now play in the Patriot League.  This makes travel for their games much easier than upstate New York, and includes Navy.  The 'Hounds have started the season 2-0, with wins over SUNY Binghimton and Cornell.  Their leading scorer this season if Cormier.  Reitz Arena has a had a facelift, and this promises to be a great season.

So, I will be updating and talking about Loyola Basketball all season long for those who are interested.

Props to another local team.. Towson pulled off a great victory over Temple this week, and they earned it.  They have a VERY good team this season.

Loyola is now 3-0 with a tough win vs. Fairfield.  Good start for their new coach.

Loyola beat Lehigh and Lafayette, and will be on CBS Sports net tonight at 7:30 pm vs. Boston U, the lead team in the Patriot League.  The 'Hounds are 9-8 so far this season, a respectable start for a tougher league than the MAAC.

'Hounds beat Navy (I was there) 67-65, then lost to Lafayette in the Patriot Tournament, season over. Now stand at 11-19, losing their top scorer hurt badly.
