FREDERICK -- The Maryland High School Football State Poll, in its 24th year, is based on a statewide voting by sports reporters. Schools are ranked by points received. The number in parenthesis reflects first-place votes. LW is last week’s ranking. The rankings are compiled by Sheldon Shealer.

How is FH #16 and Douglass not ranked at all. Ijs

If you want to put Douglass in, which of the teams would you remove?  Honestly looking at 17-25 im not sold the Ducks could beat those squads.

My guess is that the voters didn't rank Douglass becuase of their strength of schedule - they played a very weak city schedule and the only ranked team they played (FH) shut them out.

 

That being said, the Ducks can only play the teams matched up against them and they had a hell of a season.  I would've found a way to sneak them into the top 25, and I would probably leave Spalding out.

Hell, Douglass is at 31 if you count the votes all the way out....that is hogwash....
