15 players on Offense and still no Tight End?  That makes a lot of sense.

Do you have the honorable mentions?  I'm told that sophomore Monte Jones, LB/SS from St. Mary's made it for the second year in a row, which is a huge accomplishment!!

Ellison Jordan not being consensus All State is a complete joke. He was the most dominate defensive player in the state. Aniebonam? Are you serious? He played like 5 and a half games. Great talent but was hurt all season.

Come on you should know by now this is just a who's who just like all the Rivals pub they dish out.  I would put the RB from Howard Terrell Charles up against anyone on this list, the kid is a stud.  Also don't know his name but the young man from Centennial also was very good.  What about Duke his stats were just as good if not better than than all three.

Totally agree.  How is the Tight End position left off the All-State Team (All Metro as well).  In today's game, the TE is a pivital position, requiring blocking as well as receiving skills.  Did see Erik Evans made All State Private School - 2nd Team at WR.  Didn't see any other TEs listed on any of the other teams.

Evans was the top private school TE IMO, but there were some other great ones in the publics as well, like Till from Wise (committed to NCSU) and Leonard from Middletown (committed to FSU).  It makes no sense to have 3 RBs, 6 OL and 0 TEs.  Ridiculous.

Well in my opinion it is stupid to have 15 people on a team. There are only 11 spots. Should be:

QB

RB
RB

WR
WR
TE
OL
OL
OL
OL
OL

DL
DL
DL
DL
LB
LB
LB
S
S
C
C

P
K

That's it. Stop making people feel good by adding more. 11 play and that is it.

Agreed.  Maybe I would add a KR and a PR, but that would be it.

Ellison had a great season but he had a tough game against MCD (championship). I counted at least 3 encroachments. In addition, some of MCDs bigger runs were against his side. Clearly didn't dominate in the MCD game. Considering a lot of press was there, this may have had a bearing on his selection?

I've never seen someone so obsessed with the results of 1 game.  Did McD win in decisive fashion?  Yes.  Does that mean Jordan wasn't one of the best DTs in the state?  No.  Also, he had a decent game against McD if you watch the tape.  He still made 1st team all state for the privates, the voters just didn't name him to the consensus team, probably because he is a soph.  I'll defer to Clemson, ND & Ga Tech, all of whom have offered him already.

I was actually going to say the same thing. I've also watched the McD tape and Ellison was double and even triple teamed all game. McD had a great scheme against Gilman and it also didn't help that Gilman's star Melvin Keihn was hurt and honestly probably shouldn't even have been playing. McD was the better team that day and all year in the league. But Ellison was the best player on Gilman's team and best defensive player in the state. All anyone needs to know about Jordan can be seen by what he did against Manatee and their All American OL. He destroyed him. He's the best I've ever seen on defense at Gilman and honestly in the Bmore Area and I've seen some great ones.

You hit it on the nose though, they obviously didn't want to give it to a sophomore. But it's a travesty, especially when you but a kid on the team who didn't even play half the season. I don't think Jesse Aniebonam even made All WCAC but makes consensus All State? Just lazy voters who like RM7 said, goes strictly on name recognition.

Gilly, I would also get rid of the All-Purpose spot as well. To me that is not a real position.

I personally don't have a problem won the AP position. They're basically doing the same thing as what is done in College. That being said, it's stupid to have two AP players on the team.
