Preston's not one of my favorites but his article today is spot on. Now you have to wonder why Castillo, our run coordinator, is still calling the shots or even coaching on the team given that the Ravens have had such a dismal running game this year. Why would a head coach, after 15 games of zero running attack, put up with this? Seriously, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out after 15 games that IT AIN'T WORKING! Sad, really sad.

Suggs has signed. I've never been so happy to be wrong

during the 2nd qtr, I commented that it looks like NE knows each play the Ravens are about to make.

Answer to all of the above: our coaches really ARE clueless! That's it in a nutshell, and nothing is going to change as long as this staff remains in place. In fact, I think it's a downhill slide from here onward for the next few years....until Steve steps in and relieves them all of their 'jobs'. I wrote Mike to congratulate him on this belated article...which could have been written after every game we played this season. The rest of the sports writers continue on in la la land, not even alluding to the real problems EVER. It's a real mess...and it needs to be fixed soon! Steve.........????

And a PS to the previous comment.........if I hear Alaska, Alaska one more time this season I am going to disable the sound on my TV. Has anyone in the continental United States not yet figured out that it's an audible out of the called play, to a run up the middle!!!! How can you use the same audible fifty times all year and not think every member of every team is not just standing there saying , gee thanks for the play call, I guess it's a run up the middle'. What kind of coaching staff devises this stuff? Can you imagine what Belichick must be thinking behind that grin??? To me, Alaska, Alaska says it all about this coaching staff......maybe we can sent them to a team up there!

It's week 17, a little late for firing coaches to make a difference

Solution? Younger RB's. Rice is running old. In today's NFL milk has a long shelf life than a running back.

It's not just the RBs. It's the RBs; the O-line; and the OC. It's a total package; and it's a total mess right now.

RBs? not entirely sure. jim brown in his prime couldn't run with our O-line. OC? maybe. but again, with that o-line, there's a lot of working-around he's gotta do, not to mention the other unneeded cook harbaugh had put caldwell's kitchen who screwed-up the stew, i.e. chef castillo.

Emmit Smith rushed for over 1000 yards 10 straight seasons. Just sayin'

What's YOUR solution?

There really is no solution to the running game this year. Next year I would hope and expect them to get back to a power man on man scheme using Yanda and Osemele in the power attack and pulling them. Next year both should be healthy. The issue could be our Center constantly getting blown off the ball though. I think the zone-blocking would be more effective this year if we would do more cut blocking on the back-side so Rice and Pierce could cut-back more. Maybe our Oline is worse at cut-blocking then at what they currently do.
