This requires a CHANGE IN THINKING by the front office.
1. IF we are to give the minors time to really develop to their fullest - Gausman, Bundy, Wright, Rodriguez, Schoop, .... others we need to not be pressured to bring them up in order to have some wins.
2. Filling in with these free agents for the 2 years before all these minors and more should probably be ready to actually Break Down the Door to the Majors and be a part of the 25 man roster is a Major Investment in the future.
3. It continues the WINNING WAYS started.  The fan base had been infused with the enthusiasm of old days. It opens the doors again to free agent looking at the Orioles as a Destination.
4. It makes it easier to extend the players we want to stay and be the core.
5. It should keep the seats warmed with Excited Baltimore fans.

BUT all of this will require the Front Office and the Ownership especially to go through Psycho Analysis. Theraputic examination of goals and methods to achieve. Since they have worn the trail to bedrock on this Not Spending and Hoarding money (as in the extra $25 MIL OF TV MONEY). 2013 payroll of $92 mil and suggested by front office maybe to go to $100 mill. Where is the $25 mil??

PERHAPS THE OWNERSHIP SHOULD TAKE SOME OF THE $25 MIL FOR ITS PSYCHIATRIC EXAMINATION. BUT most with this illness are in denial.

that's not necessary. the goals are clear, and the methods of achievement are phenomenally successful. I'm not sure where the confusion lies?

Goal #1 - Maximize profits

Goal #2 - see Goal #1. then get out, because you're fired for not remembering the only goal that ownership has.  :P

Is Matt Hobgood a real person?  If so, what has become of him?  And, should the O's trade him for another Colvin type? Swapping out first round busts is a healthy form of purging for guys like Pete who could stand to lose a few pounds of ego.

The only way I know that Matt Hobgood is real is that the Orioles selected him instead of Zach Wheeler.
The kids are alright.

Sorry, ace, but psychoanalysis went out w/ woolen uniforms. Now, running own life, lives of others less about symbolism, meaning; more about accomplishment, achievement, & that takes its toll on every 21st-cent. romantic-positivist-idealist droolmeister.
