Per MLB Trade Rumors.

Arroyo is asking 2/22....
Is he worth that?
Regardless, the O's could use him.

14-12 with a 3.79 era, sounds about the going rate these days for starting pitchers, but probably why the Dbacks will get him. We didn't resign Feldman and he signed signed for 3/30 less per year

Suggs has signed. I've never been so happy to be wrong

Don't blame me, I voted Bob Barr:cool:

In this market, yes, he's worth 11 mil a season

If the Dbacks are smart, they'll bow out and let us sign him for the low ball amount we usually sign guys too. Then after he fails his physical they can get him for the lower price :D

$11M/yr is the going rate. Arroyo is better than Edwin Jackson, and he got more money from Chi.

I've been following the stories about Suk Min Yoon. he was the MVP in 2011. he projects as a #3. that's good because it pushes Norris further back in the rotation. that will be better for him and the team. it also allows Gausman to stay in the minors and gives him time to figure out how to pitch beyond the 4th inning, without getting lit up. his pitches are MLB ready, but he needs to develop his mental and strategy game I.E. knowing when to change pitch sequences, etc. (although, that should be something Weiters helps with).

If the O's sign him, it likely changes my plans for (mostly) staying away from OPACY this summer.  Not because I think he'll be great, but because the missus is going to want to cheer her (original) countryman.

So we are in play for Arroyo, Moon and Burnett??  Or at least Duquette is making it appear we are in play to avoid a riot at Camden Yards???

they really only need 1 of them. so I'm sure that it's either Arroyo or Burnett. if they added one of those guys, Yoon would then be considered an upgrade move, a "nice to have" rather than a "need to have". he could be used out of the BP while providing spot starts and long relief.

no one in the press is talking money when it comes to Yoon, so I don't know what Boras is asking for. but it must not be much if the O's are in on him. I'm not sure of all the details, but I heard that signing him doesn't count against their international money. I guess that means he would be signing as a free agent rather than part of the international draft.
