16. Michael Oher. I totally disagree with that one

15.Demetrius Williams

14. Tavares Gooden

13. David Pittman

12. Jay Graham

11. Oneil Cousins

10. Deron Jenkins

 9. Yamon Figures-should be higher in my opinion

 8. Devard Darling

 7. P.J. Daniels

 6. Patrick Johnson

 5. Mark Clayton-Not sure he should be that high

 4. Travis Taylor-should definitely be Top 5

 3. Dan Cody-Too high considering injuries

 2.Sergio Kindle

 1. And #1... Drum roll please...............................

Mr. Kyle(I can throw the ball 70 yards between the goal posts on my knees) Boller.

My only problem with Glen's list is he has a couple of 4th rounders on it which in my opinion aren't expected to be major contributors and the order of some of them. What say you?

Suggs has signed. I've never been so happy to be wrong

Don't blame me, I voted Bob Barr:cool:

Everybody could come up with a list, and there would be at least some overlap.  Without putting much thought into it, I'd say he's in the neighborhood.  Like you, I mildly question Oher being on the list, and I wonder if it's fair to call guys who developed injury problems bad picks attributable to the GM? (Kindle and Dan Cody)  Ozzie certainly could not have forseen Kindle falling down the stairs.

If not now, there certainly have been folks posting here who blamed Ozzie for the Kindle bust, based I guess on some sort of instability in the kid's history. If the Ravens were taking a chance on him, it probably was that they were in the midst of a long run of picking at the very end of the rounds - the price of their consistent success. I don't think I risk any controversy in observing that Newsome is generally regarded as one of the best ever at drafting talent.

Of course there will be misses. It is not unlike picking a racehorse - you can know everything there is to know about a guy's record (how many tackles, yards, TDs etc.), personality, intelligence, speed, balance, etc. but that will not infallibly tell you how they will fare in the NFL.

Travis Taylor should be #2 with Big Kyle the obvious #1.  Mark Clayton might of been better with Flacco, but I do have a Clayton jersey so he stays in the top 5.

I'd definitely put Travis Taylor at #2. And considering he was a 3rd round pick, I might have to toss Chris Redman's name out there for consideration. He never panned out, for a variety of reasons. And a 2nd round pick for Adam Terry? Hmmmmm. And frankly...a 3rd round pick for Ed "Stone Hands" Dickson? Maybe.

  • Sorry, but the list fails without DeRon Jenkins. I'm pretty sure we traded up to get the guy.

Michael Oher does not even belong on the list.

My bad, I missed him at #10. I would have had him in the top 5.

I am looking at that list and it is bit concerning looking at all those high round misses. I remember the ravens drafting all those guys. Just wow!

A lot of teams have missed a lot worst. The list of 1st and 2nd round NFL busts is large and undistinguished :)

I love those lists.  They are basically a history of Oakland and Cleveland's drafting.

I know. when you think about it. as bad as those two teams have been over the years , they should have been able to create a winning team just from their draft positions. Ozzie basically has only missed on one 1st round QB  draft pick, Cleveland has missed on three

It is amazing that first rounders miss s often as they do. Like was mentioned , one would think some teams would luck out...blind squirrel and all!
