Just read an odd quote from Duquette...

 

He basically said that, while he's always looking for ways to improve the club he's very happy with the job that Clevenger and Joseph (sounds like a law office) are doing behind the plate.

 

He then said that they are giving Wieters a little more time to see if he can come back and help the club this season.

 

That to me says that surgery is a more likely option than the Orioles are letting on.

From what I've read, they are hoping a few weeks of rest will fix the problem.  No idea how that will work out.

This is Angelos way of discrediting Wieters to drive his price down. Injury prone catchers are not worth big contracts.

Yeah, except for the players with higher averages, more RBI's, more Runs, and more homers, he would have been right there.

There's no way Wieters was going to hit .320 because he's not that good of a hitter but I do think if he had come in at .270-.280, most would agree that would be more than satisfactory.  But either way, he does hit for ocassional power and that's something the subs are not going to do.
