Gausman pitching for the O's. Looked good in the first inning. Hitting 98 on his fb with lots of movement. Of course, we've all seen that before.

I love when Adam Jones hits to right field.

This is a Big Game because the O's need the reputation of KG to translate into hammering the A's into submission -- which is admittedly kinda hard to do.

The color guy on Fox and Thorne was referring him as "Ripken" --- well,  it didn't sound like Cal. Oh, it's the other Rip. Billy's voice is not only higher, but it sounds like he's been inhaling Macanudos for the past 20 years.

Jones comes up big with the HR in the bottom of the first. He gets a lot of grief, but he posits himself as a team leader, and that's what a team leader does in a big game: hit one out against a guy that's been dominant this year so far.

Now KG walked the leadoff guy and gave up a base hit, but he gets the DP.

Norris: "We can run off 15, 20 in a row ..."

He's not taking the interview seriously ... he's just waiting for it to end, he's pumping out the quotes a la what Davis was telling Nuke LaRoosh to say in "Bull Durham."

As a cynic, I kinda like Norris' throw-off quote ...

Machado, quit complaining.

Caleb Joseph with a run scoring double agains one of the hottest pitchers in the game to take the lead.

As Joquin Anjudar (sp?) once said, youneverknow

This is a hell of a game tonight.

Orioles always seem to play up (or down) to the level of competition.

I was expecting them to get crushed in this series. Instead, they lost last night because of baserunning mistakes, and tonight they're making the most of their baserunners while Gausman is (so far) shutting down the most impressive offense in the AL.

Meanwhile they struggle against Houston ...

I just hope Gausman doesn't implode.

great pitch on Donaldson by Gausaman, after he and Joseph got crossed upon the last pitch.

He closes out the inning with two strikeouts against big time hitters. Impressive.

I feel really bad for Johnson.

It doesn't get much worse than getting taken deep by Lough -- though walking him to lead off an inning was pretty bad!

Gausman living up to expectations tonight. He's been impressive as hell. O's fans are so used to well-regarded pitching prospects failing for whatever reason , that skepticsm is warrented whenever the Next Phenom comes along. Organization hasn't really developed a top-flight starter since Bedard. But maybe KG is the real thing ...

Now that I've posted three times lauding Gausman, he'll probably tank next inning.

Cruz contining his aggressive baserunning from last night. This time it works.

Over 100 pitches. Wonder if he comes back out.

Good move.

Let him finish on a high note rather than waiting for a couple guys to get on.

Way to give them hope.

I hope nobody ever again thinks Matusz can return to the starting rotation.

I don't believe they should even consider it with Britton.

Great to see Gausman with a good game.

Sorry to see Johnson give up the home run.

Yeah I feel bad for him

I do as well.  Did I hear correctly that O's fans boo'd him when he was introduced last night? Thats pretty brutal.  I don't think he deserves that at all.
