Ravens trade retired player to Cowboys

29 posts in this topic

The Ravens traded the rights  ofthe 24-year-old linebacker to Dallas, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Cowboys reportedly gave up a 2015 sixth-round pick in exchange for McClain plus a Ravens’ seventh-rounder.

The sixth-rounder makes up for the pick the Ravens traded during last May’s draft to select wide receiver Michael Campanaroicon-article-link.gif.

Not a bad pick for a retired player.

As a Giants fan I say Thank you Jerry Jones!!! Acquiring a guy you want to start who can't play is great for the G-Men!

Indeed. Maybe he can make the Cowboys forget about Demarcus Ware. ;)

At least it brings to an end this ridiculous dog and pony show in Baltimore.

I wonder what Ozzie can get Jerry to give him for Ray Lewis.  He should be ale to get at least a third round pick.

McClain simply didn't want to play in Baltimore.  Maybe he'll come back out of retirement for Dallas.  (But really.. who cares?)

Only Ozzie could get 2 picks for a guy who has retired 3 times and not played a snap in the NFL in 2 years.

Except he didn't. He gave up a 7th rounder and McClain, and got a 6th rounder in return.

He didn't want to play in Oakland either. The only pro team he ever really played for was Alabama...

I haven't seen a post from you in some time. I'm sorry it had to be about this.

Ok fine.  He got a 6th rounder for a player who has retired 3 times and not played a snap in the NFL in 2 years.  Anyone could have done that, I'm sure.

I know you like to pretend Ozzie is a bumbling fool, but it's gotten old.

The only thing that's gotten old is you, getting called out for your mistakes, then not manning up to them.

AND...as it turns out...the Ravens might not even get the 6th round pick. So stop your ridiculous crowing already.

The Ravens ONLY get a 6th round draft pick (and send the 'Boys their 7th round draft pick) IF McClain plays 50% of the time. Highly unlikely. SO...how's that great deal looking NOW, genius?

Jerry Jones must be an idiot.

Not really. According to 105.7 The Fan this morning, if he doesn't make the Cowboys roster we get nothing. That's actually a good deal for Jones, there's no risk involved

He hasn't gotten anything yet

According to multiple sources, if McClain, who was acquired Tuesday, does not make the team or is not on the Cowboys' 53-man roster for five games or 46-man game-day roster for three games in 2014, then the Ravens will not receive any compensation.

Gee, what a surprise. The initial reports were incomplete/inaccurate.  This could easily turn from "Ozzie is brilliant" to "Jones suckered Ozzie". In fact, the first part is already proved untrue (in this case!).

Yep , the Cowboys basically lose nothing and could actually use him in a few games and still  lose nothing. Oz isn't looking smart either way. If he makes the cowboys roster it's because he played well in camp and pre season.Which would mean the  Cowboys get a good player and we get a 6th round pick that will likely be serving drinks at a bar after the next preseason. If he doesn't make the Cowboys roster, they got a free try out and owe nothing. Good job Oz

The only thing that's gotten old is you, getting called out for your mistakes, then not manning up to them.

You mean like how someone was ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE to have McKinnie back because he was necessary for the O-line to be good?

You mean like how someone claimed that Boldin was worthless, and was GLAD he was gone?

Gee, I wonder who said those things.  I'm sure he was ready and willing to admit he was wrong, whoever he was.

Nothing about you is anything close to being a man, let alone the way you handle your mistakes.

And yet again you prove your point better than I ever could.

By the way I've shown you have no rebuttal, no ability to dispute what I say, and avoid the point because everything I said is dead on accurate?

Thanks for noticing.

You're delusional, as usual. Two other posters have said exactly the same thing as I've said. YOU'RE the one who has no rebuttal. Just a buttal. Why don't you simply quit while you're behind? (Answer: You can't, because you're too much of a tool.)

Two other posters posted a correction, but only you decided to be a d ick about it, because that's what you do best.  I couldn't pass up the opportunity to call you on your own nonsense, since you're so excellent at dishing out criticism but turn into a crying, hypocritical child when it's levied back at you.  Highly comedic.

LOL. So typical of you. In post #11 I gave a simple correction, but that wasn't good enough for you. YOU were the one who then had to go low road, just like you always do. So again...just quit while you're behind.
