Mike Yastrzemski, grandson of Carl, has now been promoted twice this year in the O's farm system--their first prospect to do so. Very small sample size notwithstanding, he doesn't appear to be missing a beat in AA. It will be interesting to see how this baseball bloodline pans out.

AA is where it gets real. I hope he can continue to develop so rapidly now that he's facing guys who are near mlb level.

Guess it can't hurt to have HOF pedigree. But has there ever been a HOF player whose son or grandson also had great success in MLB?

Maybe I'm forgetting someone, or I guess somebody has to be the first.

Oddly enough, I can't think of anyone. There are obviously several Hall of Famers who come from baseball families... Ripken, Bonds, Alomar, Griffy but it is usually the off spring that makes it into the hall.

Pretty tough following in the footsteps of one of the game's legends. It would be tough playing on a football team with a name like Johnny Unitas Jr or something.

Says the O's drafted him in the 14th round, why didn't the Red Sox take a chance on him? Figure that would be putting too much on him?

Little Yaz continues to get it done in Bowie, his second step up the ladder this season.
