The Tigers have agreed to acquire David Price from the Rays, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The deal is a three-way trade between the Tigers, Rays, and Mariners.

Austin Jackson and Drew Smyly will go to the Mariners, per a tweet from Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, with Nick Franklin heading to Tampa, according to Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune

Nick Franklin was all they could get for David Price?  The Tampa GM sucks.

The A's and Tigers moves kinda make the O's little move look kinda pointless.

Not if you're interested in a competitive Orioles franchise for the next four years.

Maybe this is wishful thinking but, to me, the Yanks are fading.

Damn, I was hoping that some of these big picks would be heading over to the NL.

I don't think the O's renting a player helps the long run, though Rodriguez wasn't showing much.

Maybe the plan is to clobber teams into submission with the bullpen.

I thought for sure that the Yank$ would be done after the Tanaka injury, but they are hanging in for now.

One of the beauties in baseball is that there are no flukes after 162 games....everything will be earned.

I wonder if he starts at SS or 2B.

We are not strong enough to go all in yet. I like the stay the course mentality right now.
In no way is it over this year. We can beat Lester and Price. "I like our guys."

Okay, they got Drew Smyly, too.  The first thing I read said Jackson & Smyly were going to Seattle and Franklin to Tampa.

We kept Norris, Gausman, Harvey, Gonzo, and Bundy, and Schoop. I think the acquisition of Miller definitely bolsters an area that is already a strength but post season games are often won and lost in the late innings.

He's a good pickup, but it is a "win now" move, given his pending FA status.

But beating the A's and the Tigers in the playoffs just got much tougher for anyone.

For what the Rays got on return for Price I think Gonzalez and Schoop could've gotten him to the Orioles...

Yeah,

We have actually hit Price pretty well this year but the Tigers now have a powerhouse, almost legendary, rotation.

We shall see. Verlander has been disappointing this season.
