Last time, the O's mustered only 7 hits off Iwakuma with Delmon Young and Caleb Joseph each going 2 for 3

The Orioles are a major league best 20-11 (.625) against the AL West this season...Regardless of today’s outcome, the O’s will have played .600 ball against the West in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1979-80 (21-12; .636 in 2013)...The O’s finished with a winning record against the West just twice from 2000-12 (2003 21-15; .583 and 2010 18-17; .514).

  1. Hisashi Iwakuma is 5-0 with a 3.09 on the road this season, and is 9-0 with a 2.17 ERA (23 ER, 95.1 IP) over his last 14 road starts dating back to July 20, 2013...the 9-game road winning streak is tied for the 2nd-longest in club history, trailing a 10-game road winning streak by Freddy Garcia (18 GS, 4/16/00-7/6/11) and tied with a 9-game winning streak by Jamie Moyer (10 GS, 7/25/99-7/19/00).

    NO FREE PASSES...Hisashi Iwakuma leads the Majors with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 10.44 (94 K, 9 BB) and a walk rate of 0.69 BB/9.0 IP (9 BB, 117.2 IP)...walked only 3 batters over last 9 starts.

Nick Markakis is just an all around good ball player.

Way to get it going Kakis.  As for those other three at-bats... business as usual.

Atrocious umpiring. How is that not interference? That stupid ump should be drawn and quartered!

Well that's probably our offensive output for the day.

When is the last time the O's enjoyed a good old offensive explosion and blowout?

Its been a while.  How about when was the last time the offense actually had a big inning and chased a starting pitcher?

Oakland scored 8 runs on 8 hits a couple walks and sent about 13 guys to the plate in the 5th inning yesterday. I couldn't tell you the last time the O's did anything even close to half of that.

I genuinely want Lough to have a good year but he's been infuriating lately.

Sit down Davis.  Team is batting .203 and falling since the All-Star break.

And they keep winning games.

As for Davis, I am beginning to wonder if the long term answer is not Christian Walker

20 homeruns and a 301 average in 90 games at bowie. Now at Norfolk.

It really is amazing how bad this offense is. I've said it before but we need to change the makeup of this team as shocking as that might be. We need a different type of hitter in at least 3 positions. I don't care how good the pitching gets, and it's been really good, I don't think this offensive approach is going to get us far in the playoffs if we get there.

It seems like Markakis is the only 'patient' hitter.

Having said that, we've been facing the best pitching in the majors.

I agree with the schedule but this has been going on for a few years now. It's more than that.
