Ryan Webb optioned to Norfolk to make room for Miller.  I was really expecting McFarland to go back down, but I was surprised to see he had better numbers.  Of course I take that with a grain a salt as McFarland has pitched in a lot of blow-outs.  Either way it speaks to the O's bullpen depth.  When was the last time we sent a reliever down who was 3-2 with a 3.80 era.  And then Jimenez will be back soon as well.  Then what?

It speaks to the bullpen death, and the overall depth of hte club as well when you can afford to have Lombo sitting down in the minors. Duquette and Buck have done a great job in (re)building the O's.

As for Jiminez, I wouldn't mind seeing him sprain his other ankle. The rotation has been outstanding as of late; I wouldn't mess with that one bit.

I think one of the reasons for our pitching success is the quasi six man rotation. Buck's been able to juggle things to give Chen extra rest.

My guess is that McFarland goes down and Gonzo/Gausman become the long man when necessary.

I think they go...

Monday - Gausman

Tuesday - Norris

Wednesday - Chen

Thursday - Gonzo

Friday - Tillman

Saturday - Jimenez - McFarland down - Gausman available for long relief

Sunday - Gausman or Norris - Gonzo avail for long relief

Monday - Norris - Gonzo avail for long relief

Tuesday - Chen - Gausman avail for long relief

Wednesday - Gonzo - Gausman avail for long relief

Thursday - Jimenez

------

based on the idea that pitchers normally have a side session on their third day so they could pitch two or three innings if needed.

Tough decision on who to kick when Jimenez comes back.  Can't he just stay on the DL? What a nuisance.

They are crazy if they let Ubaldo back out on the mound as a starter...

Let HIM be the guy who mops up whenand if a starter fails miserably...

He hasn't earned Jack-**** with this team

can they put him on waivers and see if he gets through? if he does, see if there are any interested parties.
