Tonight, Chris Davis goes 2 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBI's

For the Orioles
Nick Markakis RF
Manny Machado 3B
Adam Jones CF
Delmon Young DH
Nelson Cruz LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Chris Davis 1B
Caleb Joseph C
Jonathan Schoop 2B

"The Blue Jays will limp into the key three-game series with several important members of their starting lineup still on the 15-day disabled list, although they did receive some good news on that front on Monday.

The club has been without the services of three key players -- Adam Lind (right foot fracture), Edwin Encarnacion (right quadriceps strain) and Brett Lawrie (fractured right index finger) -- since before the All-Star break. But it was reported on Monday that Lawrie would be activated prior to the series opener.

That could provide a boost for the Blue Jays, who'll send Buehrle to the mound as they attempt to break a three-game losing skid. Buehrle will look to stay in the win column after registering an elusive 11th victory in a sweep of the Red Sox on Wednesday."

---

The season series is tied, 5-5, with the Orioles going 3-4 in Baltimore and 2-1 in Toronto...In 2013, the Orioles won the season series, 10-9, as they went 6-3 in Baltimore and 4-6 in Toronto...The Orioles trail in the all-time series, 257-296 (146-134 in Baltimore and 111-162 in Toronto)...

Since his second inning home run July 25 at Seattle, Nelson Cruz is mired in a 1-for-32 slump which has dropped his average from .276 to .259...In his three games this season at Rogers Centre, Cruz is batting .462 (6-13) with a double, three homers, five runs scored, two walks, 10 RBI and a 1.764 OPS.

Mark Buerhle Is making his 22nd career start (24th appearance) vs. the Orioles... Will be making his 452nd consecutive start without a DL stint...This represents the longest active streak in the Majors...Has thrown 6.0+ in 18 of his 22 starts... Has allowed 1-ER or less in eight and 2-ER or less in 15 of his 22-GS this season.

Davis is 6 for 19 against Buerhle. Markakis is 20 for 46. Young is 19 for 48 and Jones is 10 for 28.

Good to see Davis dropped in lineup.   I'm pretty sure he and Jones historically hit pretty well at Rogers Center which lends some hope they can break out of their slumps

Whatever is going on with Davis and now Cruz is just mind boggling.  Every night both these guys look like the've pulled out of the stands to see if they can hit real live major league pitching.

We're starting to see the whole package with this lineup. They can hurt you with the long ball. They can hurt you with the double

Wow.

Nice grass.

Saw that coming.  Probably best to charge that ball and grab it in the air.  Valencia obviously new to Rogers Center so can't really blame him
