Before anyone even thinks about saying it...

Tonight is NOT going to be an indicator of how the offense (or defense, for that matter) will perform in the regular season. This is JUST THE FIRST PRESEASON GAME. It means NOTHING.

(Okay?)

Due to not being home most of the evening, I don't expect to watch most of it. When I do get home I will watch the Orioles game, but surf to this in between. I consider pre-season games to be practice, which I don't generally watch. If I were to pick a player to watch it would be Wagner at RT.

Wagner, and Juice. And, depending on how long he plays, I'm interested in getting my first look at Steve Smith in a Ravens uni. It'll also be interesting to see how much explosiveness Rice has or doesn't have. But beyond that it's all academic.

Interested in seein Wagner.

This is a big game for juice, he was terrible last year getting blown up all over the field.

Tonigh may determine whether he is in the CFL this year or next year.

I know it's only the first game but so far I think I owe Mr. Wagner an apology. He's done a great job so far

Typical Joe...has a good drive or two in the first quarter and you don't even see him in quarters 2, 3 and 4.

it's the pre season. Let's play hin 4 quarters in a meaningless game so he can get injured and we go 4-12 with Tyrod

I think he was being sarcastic/humorous.

I just talked to my source... Vinny Cerrato... who said that Joe left the stadium right after Pierce's TD and went home to New Jersey to (ugh!) "be with his family"...

Sorry. I don't know what you're talking about when you say Joe left. Explain please.

It's a JOKE. Satire. Humor.

(How do you explain humor to someone.)

I turned it on during mop-up time in the 4th quarter.  Taliaferro, looked good, but then again who was playing defense for SF?  He smashed the 49ers like they were a taxi cab window.  Too soon?

I think he's the real deal. It wasn't just last night. Good things have been coming out from training camp about him. One play in particular I remember...the play was designed to go inside, but it was jammed, and he busted it outside for a nice gain. Good vision, good speed, and good power. He just needs to keep improving and learning the NFL ropes.

If your watching games that don't count you need to get a life.

Yet posting on a message board about it is "OK"

What else do I need to change about myself to lead a more fulfilling life?  :)

If your watching games that don't count you need to get a life. After the game is over I check for injuries, that is all I care about.

1. There are many different levels of "count", and while injuries are basically the main thing that need to be avoided in the preseason, they're hardly the only important thing.

2. Anyone who really cares what you care about needs to get a life. (Just sayin...)

I watch the rookies. The vets are just getting reps.

I turned off at halftime.

I turned it off after Tyrod made his appearance. Wanted to check out Moseley and Wagner. Then I turned on The Chappelle Show. By the way if anyone is in to funny shows, check out the show on Adult Swim called Black Jesus.  I was in tears :D

Uhh, I think most of us real fans watch the games to see the team finally putting together the pieces. It's a big deal in Baltimore.

I got home late in the game and planned to mainly watch the Orioles. I have to confess - I watched more of the Ravens game. it was really good to see NFL football, even the LITE version last night. Big, fully armored men who are incredible athletes slamming into each other at full speed just seems to grab my attention. It's kind of like a car wreck - you can't look away. I really cannot wait for September 7 1 pm. And that is coming from an ardent Orioles' fan way into this pennant race, but I do love me some Ravens' football.
