for all those folks that said UJ will be an ace in the 2nd half, I really hope you were right.

Hey Rob, how about a stat showing quality starts by month?  The Cruz lead offense kept the team afloat in April and May but lately it's the starting pitching and bullpen that serve as the team's backbone.

Regardless, quality start is an important factor is you have a weak backend.  The O's are now structured to provide lockdown pitching from the 7th on via Miller, O'Day and Britton.  Brach and Hunter can cover the 6th.  In short, the quality start stat is largely meaningless if you have a bullpen like the O's have right now.

I just hope they give both Miller and O'Day nice multi-year extensions soon.  O'Day's option ensures he's not going anywhere in 2015 but at his age, I'd take that opportunity to reup him for at least another 3 years.  Miller though is in line for a big offseason increase in terms of years and cash.  I'd predict he will become a top five paid setup man and possibly the #1 guy in that regard.  I just wonder if both he and Lester are of like minds in terms of where they hope to be/return in 2015.

I must say that stat for ubaldonis quite misleading as there were like what 3 or 4 games where he went 5 1/3 or 5 2/3 and only gave up one or two runs which is my mind is a decent start. But I understand your pointing out only the so called quality starts

Me too. I didn't say he would be, I said he could be. It's a big hope.
