Why schoop at 2B against the righty?

Flaherty blows against both righties and lefties.

Schoop avg. against righties better than Flaherty against them.

Flaherty reminds me of Andino.

He seems to think he's a much better hitter than he is.

And yet, somehow Schoop's OBP is lower than Flaherty's. What do you call someone whose numbers are worse than a guy who "blows".

Yeah, Schoop does have a little bit lower obp against righties than Flaherty does. You can flip a coin with these two almost. Either way, Flaherty isn't any kind of meaningful upgrade over Schoop against righties, and with some of the ugly at bats he has had lately, it doesn't bother me that he is sitting.

I went outside and mowed a little bit before the afternoon thunderstorms hit and was hoping to see that our offense broke out and put up 5 or 6 runs when I came back in. Silly me.

You gotta go with whatever advantage you have. ALWAYS go with the lefty against the righty all things being equal. Very curious what the thinking was behind starting Schoop.

That was really silly.

Every now and then they have a big inning or game that makes their overall stats look better, but, aside from Markakis, these are not good hitters.

Just don't throw them a fastball over the heart of the plate and you'll be ok.
