....as the Houston bench coach.  They fired Bo Porter as manager, too.

I didn't even know Dave Trembley was the Houston bench coach.

A shame. I do think that Houston is turning it around, slowly but surely. From the little I have read the problem might be the gm and not the manager.

That's often the case, and unfortunately, the manager doesn't have the ability to fire the GM.

The problem is the GM. Bo hired Dave.

The bench coach is more-or-less a pal of the manager, a sanity-check, and a guy to bounce ideas off.

When the manager goes, the bench guy doesn't have much job security, to say the least.

True, and along those lines, a new manager is going to want loyalty.

My only memory of Dave Trembley is that he was the Orioles manager when Texas beat them 30 - 3.

Bo's firing is the talk of the radio today. reports are that Bo went rogue after he was hired. on his first day on the job, which was the 1st day of ST in 2013, they held the usual team kickoff meeting. Bo was talking over the GM, cutting him off and questioning things the he was saying. everyone who left the org, staff members, as well as players, said that Bo Porter is not the guy you want managing a young, developing team.

The GM is the problem. Also look at the problem of signing there #1 draft pick. The organization is a mess.

That's just an example of the communication problems between Luhnow and Porter.

I dunno, if Porter hired Trembley maybe Porter is the problem.  Trembley is the embodiment of 'nice guys finish last'.
