Does anyone else watch this show? I've recently started binge-watching it. I'm almost caught up to Season 5

Since the TV show "Good Times" , I don't think there has been a show that better depicts and makes light of the challenges for young people who live in poverty and broken homes.

William Macy is brilliant on the show. The woman who plays Fionna is great also.

I've been watching it from the beginning. It's the sole reason I pay for Showtime now that Californication and Weeds are no longer on

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. It has a nice sound to it

Suggs has signed. I've never been so happy to be wrong

Don't blame me, I voted Bob Barr:cool:

The frequent scenes of Fionna in her undies are worthy of the paid subscription fee lol

The original British version is much better..over 120 episodes!!

Although the women are not nearly as hot....

And it takes awhile to get used to the accent.

That being said, my girlfriend lived in England 25 yrs and says that the British version is much more realistic than the "polished" American version.

I like some British TV shows but I think comedy doesn't always translate well between cultures.

I don't mind that they changed some things for the American version.

I tried but couldn't get into the British version. Some shows they do better, some they don't.

I've started watching this show. What a train wreck of a family. Yet they go so over the top that things that might be shocking are actually funny. They're like an accident on the TV highway and we are all here to rubberneck.

But it works. I'm halfway through the second season and I like the show.

You want to root for every character to succeed but they always seem to screw up. Pretty realistic caricature of most human beings

I don't find myself rooting for Frank to succeed but that is such a low bar to get over. It's more like laughing at how spectacularly he will fail.

I agree. He's a pretty awful parent and overall person but he's darkly funny too

Yep. Like you said, they're a caricature of people. Frank is just over the top and that is what makes him funny.

The Brazilian drug lord's daughter is quite the stunner too!

Season 2 is a little darker. I thought it would be funny if Grandma Peggy taught Carl to be a meth cooker but they wrote her out instead. I kind of get why she had to go. She was crowding out Frank for 'worst person in the family'.

Deb has some of the funniest lines. "I don't think I'm depressed. I think Lip's the one. He is kinda half way there anyway. Maybe you shouldn't have kicked him out."

Frank's mom 'almost' makes you feel sympathy for him

I just finished the latest season. Almost forgot about Season 2

Heh. Frank's wife 'almost' makes you feel sympathy for him except most of the time he is enabling her.
Poor Debbie. Her constant optimism constantly lets her down.

Steve/Jimmy: a horrible *****-bag who Fionna needs to dump? I say yes.

Season 3: Fionna tries to take the 'worst person in the family' award from Frank but doesn't quite do it.

Spoiler alert for those that haven't seen the show yet, highlight below.

It seems the drug lord didn't take Jimmy/Steve for a one way boat ride.

Carl is turning out to be some great comic relief. Let's find some sort of criminal adventure and send a twelve year old budding psychopath out to do it.
Shooting a bald eagle for Thanksgiving dinner was priceless.

Carl is one of my favorite characters

Lip is a favorite too

I really like the Russian chick Svetlana too but I'm not sure what season she first appears.
