Brands like Under Armour and sports focused lines are doing very well others are struggling. 2014/2015 has been a test of who's staying and who's leaving the industry.

A few big names are hoping this year ends quickly:

Quiksilver: The legendary surfwear company filed for Chapter 11 seeking to cut $500m in debts. While still profitable, the company says disruptions in its supply chain and the west coast port shutdowns caused it to miss shipments and not get products to retail and customers.

Kanati Clothing Co: The largest Native American owned menswear company had operations come to a halt in Pakistan for reasons beyond their control. They have since had to invest in their own domestic manufacturing. The downtime has caused delays in shipments and retail.

MEXX:  The huge Dutch owned brand filed for bankruptcy. The company owned some 350 brick and mortar stores.

Parasuco: The legendary denim company closed all of its retail stores but remains in business after filing for bankruptcy.

This is only a few examples of a much bigger trend,  are the days of the independent brand dead?

Never owned a Suit. Don't even have a Sport Jacket that fits me. Just don't go anywhere I have to Dress. Last time I wore one was at my Mom's funeral. There's a couple jackets In the closet left from my Dad passing, they fit but need to be cleaned. Don't have anything from Under Armor, I'm not Athletic. Have a closet Full of jackets from Casinos that I got on Comps though. Lots of those black satin ones and 1/2 a dozen Leathers. Here's my Trump Taj Mahal leather jacket, it's Wild! Think I'll get buried in that, it was worth like $500!

Don't try to tell me that what I see with my own two eyes ISN'T what I'm seeing with my own two eyes!
