Quarterback Dwayne Haskins, the No. 23-ranked prospect in the ESPN 300, has committed to Ohio State, switching his commitment from Maryland on Monday. "It has been a dream of mine to play for Ohio State," said Haskins, the No. 3 quarterback in the 2016 class. "This prestigious university best represents my family values, and playing under Urban Meyer's strong leadership abilities and a person that I can have a relationship with after football was important." Haskins had been committed to Maryland since May 15 and had been a big piece of the class, even helping to bring in some Terrapins recruits up to this point.

Keandre Jones -- who is reminiscent of former OSU standout Ryan Shazier -- was part of a banner recruiting haul for the Buckeyes on Monday.

That included ESPN 300 linebacker Keandre Jones, who also flipped his commitment from Maryland to Ohio State on Monday. The two prospects decided that they would both make the switch and announced their decision together, giving Ohio State three ESPN 300 commitments on the day. Wide receiver Binjimen Victor committed to the Buckeyes earlier Monday, capping off a huge recruiting day.

Haskins cited the coaching changes at Maryland -- Randy Edsall was fired midseason -- as a big reason for his decision to flip his commitment. Haskins said he had built an excellent relationship with the previous staff. "I stayed verbally committed to Maryland despite the coaching changes, and I believe things happen for a reason," Haskins said. "This was God's way of giving me an opportunity to re-evaluate my decision." The quarterback took a visit to Ohio State and also considered LSU before deciding the Buckeyes had what he was looking for.

The three commitments give Ohio State 12 ESPN 300 recruits, second only to LSU, which has 16 ESPN 300 commits. The Buckeyes have had four ESPN 300 quarterback commits since the 2013 class. Now Maryland is searching for an answer at the position.

Verbal commitments mean nothing. Losing Jones is tough, defense is going to be thin this year especially at linebacker. He probably would have started from day one. Time will tell if Haskins pans out...wouldn't be surprised if he is looking to transfer in two years.

Recruiters seem to be active in Fla and SEC country....take that over MD/DC/VA 8 days a week.

At lease Basketball got the season sweep on THE OSU

And the Terps have as many final 4 showings and championships as OSU basketball too...not too shabby.

Only 6 behind in football championships.
