That would be nice...but I am sure he loves the position he's in there at Wise.

I thought DeLawn was banned from coaching in HOCO from incident that took place in a game years ago ?

I think you are referring to Coach Payne from Parkville.

Something must be up when a great guy like strunk walks away

In his twitter post he references his principles being challenged. Sounds like a good character guy, shame for him to resign.

It's the counties and school's fault for not backing him this is a prime example of the day an age we're in.

Not sure I can blame the County on this matter....but blaming the school admin I can agree with.

I'm dumbfounded on this Howard matter.  What support didn't the coach receive to cause his action?  Howard just seem to me to be firing on all cylinders.

100% on the county because they did nothing an that sent the message. No way the admin was going to do anything risking blow back without the counties support. Doesn't matter now they lost not only a great coach but person an mentor. For those who remember Howard not only was terrible at football but was trending down as a school. Think the rise of the football program an the school rating are not related?

Y'all talking in codes. What was the problem?

Y'all buck dancing around what's really going on

In general, Coach had issues holding players accountable for their actions.  And when matters got worse, Coach wanted to make a stronger stance. But the school administration did not support coach on his stance.

Lets not have the outsiders set a false narrative. The county had absolutely nothing to do with it. See intolerable parents.

No that was not what happened. Player did not like he was being held accountable for his actiions and the player got physical. Player was suspended from school an kicked off the team. County an admin made the coach reinstate the player when he returned.

Did the player get "physical" with another player or coach or whom by position, not name?

I have seen these type of matters unfold before and it can be a lose - lose situation for everyone involved and for some not involved.  One matter I know of similar to only the little bit I heard so far was arrested by a parent.  A situation developed that should have have and got way out of pocket. The coach had one take.  Of course the kid had another take.  The school admin had a King Saul's split the baby take and the county just wanted the matter closed no matter what.

In that situation, the parent decided his kid had no calling to get physical with another person short of reasonable self-defense and the parent dropped his own kid from the team who begged to come back and earned his way back the following year at the exclusive decision of the coach post a probationary period of the kid and coach.  But we have had other situations like in Frederick I believe it was last season when a head coach was terminated over a physical altercation seemingly started by a kid whose dad was a JV coach at the school.

RM7,

I believe this incident happen a couple of years ago. I knew the player was kicked off the team, but my understanding was the player had to earn his way back on the team. I was not aware that the County and Administration was involved.  But the player was fine last season, but this season they had accountability issues with the player. Again, coach tried to make a hard stance but wasn't allowed to by the school administration. So yes, that incident a couple of years ago along with this season issues played a part in his decision, which why he posted "Over the past 3 years"  on the team's twitter account regarding in why he's stepping down.

Wrong happened this year, and if you think this is over accountability issues then you have no idea what happened.  No need to address the matter with me anymore.

Yup haven't heard the last of the Frederick issue either, that will end up in court and could cost the school some big cheddar.

Yes, I do know it is more than just accountability. And I know about all the incidents, maybe not ever single detail of each one, but I am aware of the incidents.  But I agree not to address the matter with you anymore. In fact it probably shouldn't be addressed in this forum anyways, especially since the Coach did not go public.
