Trump considering deploying National Guard for mass deportations

318 posts in this topic

The Posse Comitatus Act prevents the Federalization of the National Guard except to prevent violence or insurrection.

The only 2 cases of valid use were Brown v. Board , and desegregating U Alabama -Tuscaloosa.

In 2008, military police officers were used to assist traffic control and other Leo actions during a murder spree, the use was found to violate the ACT

Then again, he thought Frederick Douglass was alive.

And Obama thought there were 57 states in the U.S., and that Austrian was a language and that "corps" is pronounced "corpse."

So what's your point?

The Russians ironically enough use this sort of push pull journalism to confuse and fatigue populations. I'm not willing however to attribute genius where there is none so the alternative take on this whole story is utter incompetence on the part of the administration.

It doesn't take genius. It just takes lack of character.

That's being generous. I'd say in half a press conference.

Irresponsible of the press to publish a story without confirmation.

Pretty typical though. I googled fake news since trump got elected and WOW! Like 15 articles and still coming! He goofs up enough on his own. Why they gotta make crap up?

LOL.  So the admin has the power to kill stories.   More delusion.

No. They were asked for a comment. They had none. Predictably. AP would have run the story with the WH comment, irrespective of the nature of the comment.

Worst President in U.S. history.

But he is President.

God Bless President Trump and all the SCOTUS appointments he gets to make instead of Hillary (lol) Clinton.

Then you should be rejecting the comment that the White House could have "killed the story."   Your quibble is with Michigan Joe.

This administration doesn't understand the simplest things.

You don't understand Trump at all, but, that's ok, very few on your side do, which is to our advantage.

I'd venture to guess there's a strategy here, let 'em run wild with a ridiculous story- among others it'll all come back to bite 'em

there's scores of bureaucrats in the fed tasked with making all sorts of proposals and they run  from the impractical, to the solid, and to the ridiculous and everywhere in between. Obama had the military preparing for martial law when the global warming reached the crisis where there would be food shortages and Walking Dead style survival of the fittest going on in society, as example.

What's ridiculous about the Memo?

Didn't Trump propose this on the campaign trail?

I'd venture to guess there's a strategy here.....

Appears that's the case.

  • 1. Wait for a draft memo of a proposal to be leaked to the press.

    2. Refuse to comment when asked about the draft.

    3. Wait to dispute a story's accuracy until the story is published.

    4. Accuse the press of never having sought comment to begin with.

A DHS representative told Business Insider that the AP report was "incorrect" and that the department was "not considering mobilizing the National Guard for immigration enforcement." But another DHS official told Cox Media producer Dorey Scheimer that the immigration memo was "a very early, pre decisional draft... and was never seriously considered by the Department."

"Our advantage"?

Oh you think you and Trump are on the same team? That's so cute.

And was this military readiness re Obama/global warming part of the FEMA trailer camp and TX military exercise things? Cuz I TOTALLY believed those stories.

It's a memo that didn't lead to any action. Something the AP failed to point out.

-yet.

Didn't lead to any action yet.

Trump is in over his head, and it is becoming more evident to more people on a daily basis.

Any American that refuses to acknowledge Drumpf is an embarrasment to the US and the Presidency, is mentally ill, or retarded.

Couldn't this just be totally innocent? Like the White House asked DHS, 'compile a list of everything we could possibly do' and so DHS gives them a wide range of choices?

Did you read the article? (That's kind of a rhetorical question, clearly you didn't.)

From the AP article:

A DHS official described the document as a very early draft that was not seriously considered and never brought to the secretary for approval.

Certainly. The long knives are out for Trump. And he has nobody to blame but himself.

This is outrageous and I have to believe the vast majority of Americans won't stand for it.

Or just to stir up more fuss. Looks like it worked .....
