Preliminary investigation has revealed that around 11:45 p.m. last night a Baltimore County officer was on patrol when he observed a suspicious person in the area of the Royal Farms store located in the 6400 block of Windsor Mill Road. A second officer responded to the Royal Farms store to check on the well-being of those inside when he was immediately notified that the store had just been robbed.

The officers conducted further investigation which led them to a vehicle parked nearby with several people inside. As two officers approached this vehicle on foot, it began to accelerate towards them.  Both officers, in fear for their lives, fired at the approaching vehicle, striking all three of the male suspects inside. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Walnut Street and Englewood Avenue.

Baltimore County Fire Department medic crews were called immediately, and all three wounded suspects were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.  The Homicide Unit responded and recovered a handgun from the suspect vehicle.

Well done, officers.

Agreed.

These guys can't be too bright or they have a set like bowling balls. This store is right next to the police station.... they share the property line.

I wonder if these are also the guys that have been ripping off ATMs. Literally. Monahans was broken into and they took the whole machine. Joke was on them though. According to the clerk there was no money in it.

Yup old Woodlawn is on the down slide again. Time to move. The affects of the city spreading the wealth of section 8's are becoming more and more apparent daily.

While they are on administrative leave those officers should practice daily at the shooting range.

Authorities identified the man who was shot fatally as Rashad Daquan Opher, 20, of Windsor Mill.

Looks like one of the officers was a better shot then we gave him credit for.

Doesn't look like he's in the court search, but if Mr. Opher is related to a Raymond Opher, well he must've learned from the best. Talk about a rap sheet
