Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday invited first daughter Ivanka Trump to a Broadway musical that celebrates openness to foreign travelers.
President Trump’s daughter accompanied Trudeau and UN ambassador Nikki Haley to the performance of “Come From Away" in New York City, according to the New York Times. The pair sat in the audience as the Canadian prime minister took the stage to speak about the relationship between the U.S. and Canada and the importance of friendship.
More than 100 ambassadors from around the world were reportedly also in attendance.
“There is no relationship quite like the friendship between Canada and the United States,” Trudeau said in his remarks, according to a video from the event.
