Division winners:

Your Yankees pick is interesting. I say that because I heard Ken Singleton on the radio this afternoon, and he thinks this will be a development year for NY. Essentially he said, NY in the playoffs could happen, but he doesn't think it will, because Boston and Toronto are so strong. He thinks Toronto will take the AL east.

ALE - Red Sox

ALC - Indians

ALW - Astros

WC - Blue Jays/Rangers

NLE - Nationals

NLC - Cubs

NLW - Dodgers

WC - Mets/Cardinals

WS - Indians over Cubs

I'm with most of these, except for a couple of glaring ones.

The Yankees winning the AL East?  LOL.  Seriously.  LOL.  (yeah, bookmark this for a future troll if you want).  But, LOL.  Red Sox will win the East as much as it pains me to say so.  Toronto will probably finish second, and the rest will be very fortunate to fight for a wildcard.

Don't see the Royals in the mix either.  Probably a sub-500 team.

I'm probably being a Homer on that one but I do think the Yankees have some impressive rookies who could surprise us this season. They are very dependent on youth this season so we'll see.

OTOH, they could easily end up in last place with a few injuries and rookies underperforming the high expectations

I know. I'm probably being overly optimistic on that one but I feel really good about this year's Yankees lineup.

Ken said he's been calling Yankees games for 21 years, and this ST has the best group of prospects/young players he's ever seen in NY. So your optimism for NY is understandable.

89 wins. Third in the division.

Chris Davis wins the HR title again. It's an odd numbered year.

83-79, 3rd or 4th place

Boston

Toronto

NY Yankees/Orioles in either order

Rays

Machado signs an extension in the 10/400 range.

Trumbo hits 40+ bombs again.

Tillman starts less than 20 games.

Gausman establishes himself as a mid-level #2.

Britton blows 3-5 saves and his ERA "balloons" into the mid 1.00s.

Mancini shows a good bat.

Starting pitching, lack of plate discipline, and a billion strikeouts lead to another disappointing season.

86 wins for the O's, a couple of ticks off their league leading numbers since Buck and Duquette came aboard. As usual, the AL East will be tough. And worst of all, the God forsaken Red Sox and their fan base look to have the best team.

I'm most worried about Tillman.

On a personal note, I'm predicting a notable bump in minor league attendance. Looking forward to seeing how Mullins adjusts if/when he's promoted to Bowie.

Yep, DD said the loss of Tavarez is softened by how quickly Mullins has developed.
