Come Sunday, there will be one less sandwich option on Baltimore's savory Corned Beef Row.

Lenny’s Delicatessen is closing its Lombard Street location this weekend after 26 years. The New York-style deli will remain open at its Owings Mills and Horseshoe Casino locations, where owner Alan Smith said business is "thriving."

It is turning over its Corned Beef Row lease and its furniture and equipment to the Helping Up Mission that assists and houses homeless men who struggle with poverty and addiction. The nonprofit mission will use the restaurant while a $2.6 million renovation gets underway in its existing building located around the corner in the 1000 block of E. Baltimore St. It serves about 1,200 meals a day.

Whoops, just noticed my mistake of West instead of East. Can a mod please change the title from West Lombard to East Lombard please?

The previous franchise - Jack's - had huge corned beef sandwiches.

When Lenny's replaced Jack's, they offered pre-made & wrapped corned beef_rye_mustard sandwiches that were also pre-weighed for portion control.

That's when I became an Attman's regular.

Attman's is good, but if you've never been to NYC, you have to go and try Katz's Deli. Their pastrami on rye is mmm mmmm.

Agreed. My father and I ran a bus tour business for people coming from Europe and we would go to NY from NJ to settle them in an launch the tour.

We always rewarded ourselves with a visit to the numerous Jewish Deli's and frankly all were good.

Now I have no clue.
