Who wants to go to Mass with me?

They can't all be "the one true church".

Not even the Church of the Holy Mackerels?

I am a Roman Catholic since birth. From there to college and a bit aftewards, I went to Church every Sunday and Special days. Then something happened...not all at once...maybe it was moving from the 'classic' mass to folk masses...maybe it was the window dressing faux 'we a moderninzing the church' thing....maybe it was the one then two then three passings of the tithing basket (and the un-said 'you better cough it up or you will burn in hxll')....maybe it was that there was no 'warmth' in the Mass or sermons...on so on.

I became as the name implies a roaming Catholic...checking other churches...going church to church...even other sects...no better. So I guess I have up. Sort of.

To me... did Jesus have a 'formal' church? No. Did he hammer a set of doctrine into peoples heads? No. Did he insist that a set of 'rules' formulated by likely crazy men or power hungry men or sexist men be followed. No.

So now I pray...go to church occasionally and follow the most important (they say command I say suggestion) he gave: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Everything seems to fall into place very nicely for me when I accepted that.

Well, according to Jesus, that is not the most important rule to follow, but it is a good one. :)
