According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Carr and the Raiders agreed to terms on a five-year extension worth $125 million on Thursday, which would make him the highest-paid player in league history.

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reported Carr's deal includes $70 million in guarantees with $40 million guaranteed at signing.

People wonder why Flacco got so much money.  Carr's never been in a playoff game and he's (currently) the highest paid player EVER.

Since he's young, this deal could look like a bargain if he continues to improve and the same with the Raiders.  Could also be a train wreck.

I suppose some would say that means he doesn't care about winning a championship.

Carr's contract  has definitely set the bar for future NFL quarterbacks. Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford figure to be among the first beneficiaries.

The owners created this problem of huge contracts and some teams will suffer when someone gets injured.

Cousins is getting franchised again.
