Listing oneself as a minority is something that one does for a purpose, and that purpose would logically be to become eligible for anything that minority status might yield.

And she claims it was to meet other people with similar heritage. That is a logical explanation.

But people have to get their hate on. She's a democrat so she must be a liar. Right Papi?

Warren isn't a liar because she's a demo-she's a liar because she's a politician.

Yah know... I was thinking about that.

I was also thinking that this whole thing is very similar to the 'the cover up is worse than the crime.'

In my thinking....yah yah I didn't go to no Yale or dah oddah place.

But in my thinking....she has presented her case....based on family stories etc. and that is what she was lead to believe....she is part NI. So, to put out this fire. Simply have the DNA test and be done with it....let the chips fall where they may.

Then do something strange if it says she isn't like call a press conference.

I have found out that I am not in part Native American my presentation as one was based on family legend and stories....which I believed as the truth at the time. This test has proven that what I held as being the truth turns out to be family folklore...passed down from generation to generation. I apologize for misleading people based on what at that time was the truth. Thank you.

It's interesting you automatically assume the test would prove her wrong.

Yes, it would end it.  No Mongolian DNA, and she's not Native American.

I'm a registered Republican. I have given up on American politicians and no longer participate in elections.

Warren, like almost all politicians, likely stretches the truth at times.

We are discussing a specific incident. And I haven't seen any reason to doubt what she says about it.

I get that. But you leaned toward a negative outcome in your hypothetical example. Just sayin'.

The subject is way off track of the OP anyway.

A DNA test cannot prove ancestry.

Otherwise, good idea.

Don't see why this is a big deal.  She may be, she may not be.  The germane point is she didn't use this to her advantage according to all the evidence.

So again, I don't get it.

He does that already.  He lies, gets caught lying, lies again.  It's just that you believe everything out of the man's mouth regardless of whether it is the truth or not.

Right, of course, asking for actual evidence of collusion means I believe everything Trump says.  Is this all you have?

See my earlier response to this ignorant and pointless request when veritas said the same thing.

She has a genealogist on her side, you all have nothing but your anger, spite, and fear.

A DNA test could show if she has any possibility of Native American ancestry and whether that represents an infinitesimal amount.  It might not show the exact percentage but it could show what proportion of non-Native American ancestry is present.  If that adds up to 100% or close to it, then her Indian claims are bogus.

Apparently, Warren does or she wouldn't have gone around pointing out her Indian ancestry.

Is that logical explanation? If indeed that was her intent, listing herself as a minority on the roster of a professional organization is a fairly roundabout way of doing so. There are plenty of ways to contact organizations of Native Americans, and just about any other ethnic group for that matter. If I wanted to investigate the German and Slovak lineage that I heard about via my parents and grandparents I could seek them out in ways other than identifying myself as a "German American " under "other" when I was part of a national professional organization.

Being of one party or another does not make a liar. Trump is clearly a liar, which I freely admit. He was one back when he called himself a Democrat, and is still one now that he calls himself a Republican.  He could declare himself to be an independent, and he would still be the same liar. :P

And I haven't called Warren a liar. What I have said was that in my opinion listing herself as a minority in her national association based soley on family hearsay seems pretty weak, very likely had a motivation other than meeting other like people, and appears to be dishonest. That others do not share that opinion is understood, and is fine.

No it wouldn't.

Nobody is suggesting they could find out what tribe her ancestors supposedly belonged to.  However, if her test were to indicate 100% European ancestry, then the odds that she's Native American would seem highly remote.
