Another weird stat. The O's haven't won a Friday game since June 2nd.

 

Fri, Jun 9  LOSS 9-2
Fri, Jun 16 LOSS 11-2
Fri, Jun 23 LOSS 15-5
Fri, Jun 30 LOSS 6-4 IN 10
Fri, Jul 7  LOSS 9-6
Fri, Jul 14 LOSS 9-8
Fri, Jul 21 LOSS 8-7
Fri, Jul 28 LOSS 8-2
Fri, Aug 4  LOSS 5-2
Fri, Aug 11 LOSS 5-4

Or...it could be that they are what a number of us said they were months ago: a .500 team, give or take.

Interestingly, for the most part the team has run into spells where the starting pitching is okay, but the hitting stinks. Then other times the hitting is okay but the starting pitching stinks. But also in the mix is the fact that, for the most part, the bull pen has been solid, but there have been games in which the bull pen has blown games as well. So added up, yeah, it's about .500, +/-.

Inconsistency is the prelude to being .500. If the starting pitching keeps doing what they're doing there's enough talent elsewhere for this team to sneak into the playoffs. Thank God for mediocrity in the AL.
